MANAGEMENT IS THE WORST!! they constantly charge you annoying fees and try to rip you off. For the amount of money you are spending, you really should have a nice working apartment, but rather you get one that constantly is falling apart with overpriced internet that doesn't work half the time. if you want to pay hundreds of dollars for a social life, and that's it, then come here. Otherwise, don't bother. the management group is a scam. I rented from fall 10 through winter 11. ...

Location and social life were ok, but management is really dishonest. Everyone knows that about liberty square though. an insider tip.... DO NOT clean your apartment at the end of the semester. Cleaning makes very little difference in whether or not you get fined. You can clean for two hours right after finals and decrease your chance of getting their $5 fine by 10% or just not do it and get the same fine. I cleaned and really regretted it. Even if it got rid of the fine... I was working for a potential $2.50 an hour after midnight after finals. haha. DO NOT CLEAN AFTER SEMESTERS/TERMS!!! Also. Rent is realistically more like $400 if you include all of their hidden fees/fines. So remember that when you are apartment shopping. I rented from fall 10 through winter 11. ...

I had a great ward but the management is THE WORST. I would not recommend Liberty Square. They will charge you lots of extra fees.

I have to say I was actually happy with my stay here at Liberty. I was nervous due to some bad comments, but I'm kinda glad I took the risk. I got to stay for spring when my other place fell through last minute and am happy I could resign so late! So I get one more month of pool time and free hair cuts! Sad to move. I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...

I made the mistake of living here after reading poor reviews and hearing bad things about Liberty Square. It was the biggest mistake of my life. I really think it is probably one of the worst places to live at BYU. It is so overly priced and management will literally charge you for every little thing. It is absolutely a scam and a rip off. You pay $30 a month for internet that doesn't even work. There were many times when the internet was out for several days at a time. It was extremely frustrating and I often used the internet at friends' apartments or on campus. You will almost indefinitely fail cleaning checks and they charge you a $30 fee to come "clean" it themselves. Parking passes are $85 for covered and $55 for outside. You also have to pay for a bike permit. It is way too overpriced for the quality of apartments. We could hear every little thing people said or did above us and next door to us. The people above us would play Just Dance and you could see our ceiling shake up and down. It looked like it was about to cave in. Several things broke such as our microwave, oven, vacuum, ceiling light, toilet, sink, etc. The pool closes in September and the hot tub closes at 10 each night, which is super early. The gym also closes early. N It is definitely a sophomore/freshman place to live so I felt like my ward was really immature and young. I couldn't wait to move out and my roommate and I tried moving out at the semester because we hated it so much. If you're smart, don't live here. I regret deciding to live here after reading/hearing poor things about Liberty Square. I didn't think it could be THAT bad, but it was. It was worse than what I expected. I didn't think I'd have a problem with management, but I did. They charge you for weird, random things and then claim they don't really know what it is for. They are very inflexible and strict about weird things. Save yourself the trouble and never live here. ...

fairly happy with my stay here. I think I would change a few things, as the apartments are older but I did enjoy being so close to campus. I never had some of the problems listed below, though I don't doubt people having their own issues. But all in all, I enjoyed living here. I will send my sister here next year. oh, and the salon is a feature I really enjoyed, I had never heard of a complex having a salon, it was free, and great. ...

Great place to live. They have a free hair salon, and Samantha does a great job cutting your hair, so you can save some money that way. I liked living here overall. Management could look out for you more here in terms of unnecessary fees. I rented from fall 10 through winter 11. ...

hahahaha! Anyone that gives the management anything better than poor has to be the management. Like the one that said "great management, love the new carpet" as if anyone besides management knows the carpet is new, or would love it enough to comment on it. Management is such a nightmare here that it almost makes the great location and social life not worth it. It's like they went out and tried to find a group of the weirdest, rudest, least helpful people in Provo, and put them in one place... They will mess up on fees, fines, and charge you for their own cleaning (which they don't actually do) and then no one has discretion to correct them. I honestly don't even know why they have people in the front office, they treat any possible thing you could ask them like it's a really bizarre thing that only one person that works there can do. After a while you get sick of trying to hunt down their special "fee error reverser" and just pay it. They are rude and dishonest. I hope the new owners change the management, if not, the new place they are building right next to Liberty Square will run them over. So sick of this place. ...

So, here is the thing. Liberty square is not a good place to live. The management really is as bad as you have heard. I lived in liberty square last year and it was SO BAD that I want to warm people before they sign contracts. It got so bad while I lived there that a petition was originated that attempted to remove liberty square as byu approved housing. Do not be another person that they take advantage of. While you may think this is exaggerated, it honestly is not. DO NOT CHOOSE LIBERTY SQUARE! ...

Most of the good comments on this page are posted by Liberty Square management. The apartments are low quality and are not worth the price. Management will charge you Fees, Fees, and more Fees. I would not live here again. I rented from fall 10 through summer 11. ...

Lived in Madison, fall 2011 through winter 2012. I don't know about the other buildings, but Madison is tiny and old. I don't feel like I can cook in the little kitchen and everything is cramped. My apartment is supposed to have six girls but one moved out but wasn't able to sell her contract. With five of us, there is next to no room in the fridge or the cupboards or the hall closet... Basically, if you need any storage space you're screwed. Cleaning checks are crazy- everyone we talked to got their bathrooms failed for the first check, requiring a fee. It is ridiculously expensive for the quality. Management is touched in the head about everything. Internet, which we are REQUIRED to pay for, just about never works and creates so much stress. Even with a router, it still relies on Liberty's internet so it's a no-go. Parking is cool if you don't find camping out for a pass and paying about $80 for a reserved underground spot. Overall: Not bad if you want to pay high-quality price for low-quality product. I recommend somewhere else! ...

Quality: average Price: overpriced for what you are getting, but not terrible. (they will charge you little fines that add up quickly though. For example, $5.00 for a .37 STAMP. Ya, a stamp. and other ridiculous things. Location: excellent Social Life: THE BEST! Landlord: I always felt extremely disrespected and degraded. I hope to never again feel the way they make their residents feel. For this reason, and this reason alone, I will not allow anyone I love to live here. If it weren't for management, this place would be fine. Parking: you end up paying a lot for it, which is silly, and they will boot you very quickly. HOwever, at least there is parking. ...

as a freshman i wanted to have the social experience of living in 'sophmoreville' and it was NOT WORTH IT. the management is fine to deal with until you need something fixed or have a question. The internet was absolutely terrible which management refused to fix despite many complaints and even lied to my face and said that they did not install the wireless services called "Lexington" and "Jamestown" and insisted that a student must have done it...which obviously is ridiculous. Just so you know, you will also be paying $12 a month for internet, which is one ethernet socket for six people. they do not provide a cord or wireless. so if one other person is using the internet you have to go back to campus. Along with management being rude, selfish and unhelpful, the social life was not worth the hype, I've lived at much more exciting places for less money and hassel ...
