-Amenities: Internet is slow, amenities are sub par. Bathroom fans and kitchen hoods do not have duct work that go outside. So plan on having foggy mirrors after a shower. They are just boxes in the walls with fans in them. You better own a plunger, because the commodes will clog easily. Comes with cable in the common area. If you want cable in your bedroom, you have to rent a box from Comcast. Never had an issue with the Refrigerator, it is small but normal for a college apartment, the Microwave isn't very powerful, I actually had one when I moved in, so I stuck the Ridge's nuker in the closet and used my own. The common areas and bedrooms are decently sized. Linoleum tile kitchen floor and bathroom. I live in a 3 bedroom/ 3 bath and the closet is big. In the 4 bedroom/ 2 bath models I have been in the closets are smaller. The dishwasher works well, but is not very big. Clothes washer is small but works well. Spin cycle leaves clothes somewhat soggy though. The Dryer is a single element dryer and you better had not put a full load in at a time, chances are you will have to run it twice to get all your clothes dry. (90*2= 180 mins) -Security: Deadbolts on all the doors going outside the apartment(secure), personal rooms have regular door locks, the room doors are not solid though, so they could be broken into easily. Windows latch properly and are secure. Room keys are issued upon move in. Actual keys not electronic locks. -Upon Arrival/ move in Arrived and my apartment was very dirty and vastly unclean. The carpets and furniture needs replacing. We pulled the washer/ dryer out and it looked like 10 years of dust was underneath of it and a family of dryer sheets where living behind the unit. Same situation with the kitchen stove and the refrigerator. -Parking: The parking is good. They issue permits but do not enforce parking. I never picked up a parking permit. My good friend used to park his vehicle here for free during the school year even though he was not a resident. -Management: The complex manager does not return phone calls or emails. The girls that work the office are very pleasant. Office hours are not bad, they are open 10 or 11 hours a day during the week and are also open on the weekends. -Mail: Mailboxes for each apartment at the entrance to the apartment complex. Personal keys for each box obviously. Large packages are dropped off at the office and can be picked up during regular business hours. -Maintenance: The maintenance is very good, I would rate them 10 of 10, for the materials they have to deal with. If you write something up, they will be in the same day or next day to do the repair. They did change the system to put in write ups to online which I dislike mostly because the internet is so slow. Grass is mowed by an outside landscaper, usually kept well trimmed and looking nice. A/C / Heat The Air conditioning works well but the thermostat doesn't like to shut off and it uses a lot of electricity. Luckily the summer temperature in Morgantown is usually in the 80s so you do not need to really run the ac much. We usually turn it on at night to cool the apartment and then turn it off before we go to school/ work. Heat works well and is actually very conservative gas. Usually had about a 25 dollar gas bill to split 3 ways between roommates. The electric was usually around 60 dollars a month in the winter but can be as much as 150 or more if you run the A/C constantly in the summer. Outside amenities: Pool is nice and they even put of a volleyball net up on some weekends in the summer. The hot tub is open year round but is usually almost too hot. Plenty of pool furniture to go around. Never used it in the winter personally. Depends on the day and the weather. The weight room is not bad but, not the best but they have the basics. There are Ellipticals, treadmills and various weight equipment. No bench but a smith machine. TVs in the exercise room too. There is a computer lab and a printer you can use, you have to bring paper. The office staff can and will fax things for you if you ask nicely. There is also an outside basketball court and a beach volleyball area. No grills in the balcony's allowed but there is camp style charcoal grills between the buildings with picnic tables and also by the volleyball net and the pool. I think there is one by the basketball court too. There is 2 shuttles, one that goes to the downtown campus and the other to the Evansdale/ Engineering campus, runs on the 1/2 hour, depending on traffic. Summertime you have to schedule pickups. -Other: For outdoors-men, they do allow weapons. For people who do not own, you would never know anyone has weapons, residents are responsible. The courtesy police officer is an officer that works in Granville and is pleasant. He usually closes the pool at night. Speed bumps- get used to them if you live here. The road in has a lot of them and they are set up for more of .01-5 mph speeds rather than the 15 mph speed limit coming in. Snow removal- not bad, better than Morgantown city snow removal (not raising the bar much), but for the most part, last winter if you had a front wheel drive you could at least get out of the complex and I had no problem in my f150. The complex is fairly quiet so studying in the quiet is not a problem (as long as you don't need to use sites such as YouTube). If your too noisy and a neighbor complains, you will be asked to turn down your music or to quiet down. There are fines imposed for repeat offenders. The location is not the best, you cannot easily walk to any restaurants or bars. No weekend shuttle either. -Overall: Definitely not the best apartment or location in Morgantown but not the worst. The rent was just raised and I feel that its not worth the new price. I am not renewing, I am moving downtown for the fall semester so I can walk to class. Pros would be the maintenance personnel are very friendly and outgoing, Cons, well there are a lot of them as you can read above. Happy Renting I rented from summer 10 through fall 11. ...
