The landlady wasn't able to clean my apartment before I moved in. I cleaned it thoroughly when I moved out and she still charged me a cleaning fee. I found dirt and dog toys that were probably 50 years old. Don't expect to get your security deposit back. Spiders were coming down from the attic. Heat was intermittent. Floors were creaky. I was originally excited to live in this apartment. It is in a beautiful neighborhood and is a neat looking old building. The first strike was when Donna told me there is no street parking in the area, though. This was after I signed my lease. Things got worse, the apartment was dirty when I moved in. It hadn't been painted, and my girlfriend had to sweep twice before I moved my things in. The heat didn't work until mid-November, and kept stopping working. After it started working again it was way too hot, with no way to turn the radiators down. The condition of the appliances was awful, refrigerator was from the 70's, freezer was always iced up. No counter space or grounded outlets. The entire place is dirty, really filthy. Watch out for giant spiders and centipedes, no joke! You'll probably only see the property manager once or twice per year. Washer and dryer are provided, but dryer barely works and still takes your money. The thing that really got me was that they charged me for cleaning when I moved out. I spent 2 days trying to clean this disgusting old place, and it was dirty when I got there! When leaving we found a dog toy behind the radiator, I didn't have a dog! The bathub is so old that the porcelin is coming off, someone tried to cover it up with white paint. There is a broken window in the bathroom that is held together by a plastic sticker! These are just examples of how poorly kept my apartment was. The management company is not serious at all about keeping their tenants happy. 2316 E Beverly is the same building. I rented from spring '07 through fall '08. ...
