Being a resident at Walden Pond has become a great experience for my current roommates and I. The apartment complex holds a bus shuttle to and from school that helps students commute easily and optionally. For my first experience in off-campus living, Walden has been positively wonderful! The staff are kind, maintenance is excellent, and the neighborhood is quiet and safe despite being next to a busy road. It is a little more expensive, but for the quality of service and facilities that residents have access to (as well as the location in Lynchburg), it is well worth it. There have been several occasions where Walden will set up a table near the entrance and pass out breakfast items or donuts and hot coffee to residents on their way to work or school! During Halloween the staff allowed kids in the community to safely come to the office and participate in some trick-or-treating. Those are just some small ways the staff helps build community, even during COVID-19, with the residents. Plus, college students have the ability to have roommates, which helps split up the price. Signing all the necessary documents and getting set up to live in the apartments is a very smooth process and has excellent management; they are straightforward about all the fees, prices, and stipulations in the contract.
