After living at stonegate for two years, I finally moved myself and pets out. My pets are quite healthy, and well cared for. I am hyper aware of their health, so I would know if for example they had parasites. So why did stonegate upon move out charge me FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR FLEAS MY PETS DO NOT HAVE?! $400!! $400 to exterminate for fleas that MY VET confirms my pets DO NOT HAVE. We live on a first floor apartment, so bugs were no stranger to our home. Not only did they manipulate my family and steal $400 from us, they additionally charged us FIFTY DOLLARS FOR A ROOM KEY I RETURNED WITHIN THE TIME FRAME NEEDED. $50?!? FOR A KEY YOU HAVE?!? Please I beg you do NOT EVER, EVER submit yourself or your loved ones to the terror and gaslighting and neglect that you will experience with stonegate. ...

Horrible. Please don't live here Water leaks, bug issues, and no help AT all but to "maintain" the problem. Maintenance will leave there sh*t in the apartment and come back randomly with no warning to get some of it. Will leave the rest. Bug issues are met with no sympathy even if it was the building infrastructure causing the issue. Also discussing when moving in. They don't clean anything in the common area. ...

I wish I could say nice things about this place. Yeah, it's alright and fair prices for student living, but the maintenance / management is horrible. Our garbage disposal was broken and out sink kept filling up and smelt awful, and after submitting three maintenance requests, they FINALLY came after tracking mud all over our "new" shitty "wood" floor (which doesn't match anything in the apartment which looks like it was constructed by an 8 year old) and then fixed the garbage disposal by clearing it and leaving all the disgusting, old contents on our clean countertop and on the sponge. They didn't even bother to throw it on one of our two rolls of paper towels we have sitting literally a foot away OR fill out the receipt whatsoever. When brought up to management, they were dumbfounded and only had apologies, like a four year old who breaks something. And then they lied about it and said they mopped up our shitty floor, which they installed last semester and when I say shitty, you can tell they really screwed up their budgeting. Among other run ins with the front office, this was by far the worst. I know JMU 20 year old students aren't I rented from fall 2015 through spring 2016. ...

Awful upkeep. Apathetic staff. Nice apartment but bad staff, basically. I rented from fall '07 through spring '08.
