Of all the college neighborhoods along Port Republic, this is by far the worst. Cheap rent, but everything is old and dirty. A lot of parties still go on there, though. I rented from fall '06 through spring '07.

The overall location is good, however, I stayed at a privately owned townhouse that was not run by the managment. It was completely renovated with new appliances, carpet, ceramic tile floors and new paint. It was actually very nice. The neat thing is that it was owned by a former JMU student, so he understood what its like to be in a cruddy place (I guess the reason he fixed it up). I did notice, however, that the rest of Hunters Ridge was also being fixed up. It should be a really nice place in a while. Hunters Ridge townhouse #1408 was where I stayed and I would highly recommend it. I rented from fall '04 through spring '06. ...
