Like others, my main beef with the place is the landlords. Terribly rude and disrespectful every time I talk to them. Very condescending. I'll echo what others have said about them being out to get your money. The house itself is fine, but it is OLD. That means there are a lot of problems with it that the landlords like to blame on tenants. Also, if you're wondering whether the positive reviews were posted by the owners, just look at how closely they mimic the content of their website. They say the exact same things. I rented from fall 2014 through spring 2015. ...

Not a bad location, but the landlords will do everything possible to ruin your life once you sign the dotted line. Basically every legit review sums up what terrible people the Moneys are, the only positive reviews were obviously written by them since they all have the same basic content and ratings.... idiots. Sadly this website lets them saturate it with their fake reviews to hide the truth but seriously read all the reviews that don't have perfect scores next to them and find out how much fun renting from them really is. Water pipes freeze, it's your fault. Ask for it to get fixed, expect a lawsuit threat. Invite FHE group and they will hide in the bushes to video tape you, I wish I was joking. Tell anybody about said voyeurism/harassment and you'll get another fresh batch of lawsuit threats. No landlord is perfect but these people are pure evil and I have no idea who they are paying to keep their BYU contracting as everybody I know who has rented from them has complained. They also own the White House, Capitol House, Green Gables, London Manor, and the Colonial. FYI the Hollywood house is now called the Lion House. Anything from this website, avoid like the plague: http://eliteestates4u.com/ . I would not wish my experiences with the Moneys on my worst enemy. I rented from winter 10 through winter 10. ...

WARNING: The landlords (the Moneys) are incredibly difficult to work with. My roommates and I had some truly awful experiences with them while living here. So glad to be free from them.

Cool house with a lot of space. Loved having a piano, I actually learned to play. Plenty of parking even for visitors. Loved having a washer/dryer in the house and huge bedrooms. Lots of storage space which I needed. The ward was super social which I liked. When we had a problem, the landlords dealt with it that day which I appreciated. Great house, worth every penny though more expensive than tiny apartments I lived in before. Totally worth it! ...

This house is massive with shared rooms that are really like a private room given the space. I was so glad the landlords review applications. We all didn't know each other when we moved in, but all became best friends in the house right away. Great bishop and counselors--super ward. The price and the location are hard to beat. The landlord/management does an excellent job and really tried to be quick at taking care of problems. I highly recommend the Lion House! You have to apply really early and now in a group. It was a great experience; best I've had at BYU by far. ...

Ugh, the landlords! The house itself was great, but so not worth it. Yes, to be fair, they obviously care about taking care of their houses, which is good. The caveat to that is that they don't care about their tenants AT ALL. Well, actually, yes they do. They care a whole lot about your money. Sheesh. So glad to be rid of them. Had some awful experiences. ...

I actually never lived in this particular house, but I did live in another property owned by the same landlords. I just wanted to write this review to agree COMPLETELY with the comments left below. The Moneys are NOT people you want to rent from. This is their website: eliteestates4u.com Use it as a reference of properties to avoid. I promise you, I'm not writing these things to be cruel or because I'm bitter or reacting irrationally...they really, sincerely are just SO difficult to rent from. I also, after having known them, do not put it past them AT ALL to have written multiple fake reviews for their own property. Their houses really are super cool and fun to live in...but the pain and hassle that comes with the house (aka, the landlords)? Just not worth it. ...

Umm to clarify those last two reviews... I lived in the Hollywood House fall 2010 to fall 2011 and the landlords were the worst disease on my life ever. They're literally insane and they obviously wrote those last two reviews (after threatening to sue us for the "sarcastic" one we wrote. We told them to go ahead and sue us since everything we said is 100% true). I know it was them because every girl that did live there that year hated them with a passion. We even started a facebook group to recruit other people whos lives they ruined. Honestly- I wouldn't wish Bruce and Kim Money (the landlords) on my worst enemy. Actually- they are my worst enemy. We all moved out the second our contracts were up and were mailed 9 page letters letting us know that we owe them up to $15,000 because there were heel marks on the wood floor. As if a house full of 8 girls and advertised as a "ward party palace" would never have someone wearing heels. Honestly- this is a really cool house and I would have stayed there if the state would have done their jobs and locked these people in an insane asylum. Just to name a few things that happened after we all wrote that last review- them going to our bishop and making up blatant lies to try to get our endorsements pulled (luckily our bishop knew they were crazy from all the complaints he's got from students so he didn't take them seriously), them telling us that the fire Marshall said we can only have 15 people in the house at once and ward gatherings have to have written notice from the bishop (which we later confirmed with the fire Marshall is a lie), and them trying to hide in the apartment complex behind us and take pictures of us when we had guests over. When a friend of ours went and asked them why they were being so creepy they said they were trying to catch us doing something wrong (having a boy inside at 12:01) so they could tell their lawyer and have us kicked out. Unfortunately for them, we never broke the honor code so all their attempts to go through our bishop, their lawyer, and BYU to get us kicked out were failed. Like I said, we all moved out ASAP and none of us have had problems with our new landlords since. These people are just after your money so be careful. They have nothing better to do then try to be an intricate part of your life and, apparently, write fake reviews about how wonderful they are on ratemyapartment.com. Save yourself. Live somewhere, anywhere else. I rented from fall 10 through fall 11. ...

This comment is regarding one of the other comments previously posted (the extremely long one that is100% sarcastic, beginning with "the house is fun, awesome roommates.") I just wanted to say that you should completely disregard that review, it is completely sarcastic and not a good reflection whatsoever of the house. I wanted to write another review to explain why that isn't an accurate reflection of the Hollywood House. The house really is awesome. It's close to campus, beautiful, has wood floors, large bedrooms. The only thing that I really don't like (and I think you should be aware of if you are interested in living here) is that utilities can be quite expensive, about $70 per person a month. But since it is such a large house, it makes sense why they would be so expensive. The landlords (despite what the last review says) really do care about the house and take pride in the upkeep and maintenance of the house, which we really appreciate. You probably will hear from them with some frequency, but they will always be for valid reasons: to fix the heater, the sink, or just basic house maintenance. Overall, I have loved my time at the Hollywood House. If you want to see pictures or contact our landlords about seeing it, the website is: eliteestates4u.com (PS- the house has been renamed "The Lion House." Just so you're not confused, it's the same thing as the Hollywood House.) I rented from fall 10 through summer 11. ...

Hollywood House, or recently re-named "Lion House" The house is fun, awesome roommates, the ward was great, big house, spacious rooms for ward prayer and parties. Super old house so utilities get pricy. The landlords are great! They're so friendly, email you 5 times a week, and come over every Satuday night. You'll become great friends, I'm sure. They also contribute to decorating advice! If you love flowery couches, 60's window treatments that don't close completely, and vintage tables, this is the place for you (don't worry, "it's the new vogue"). They'll also make sure to give you advice regarding how to properly handle utilities and other maintenance issues. If you're interested in making a little extra money, just let the landlords know and you can have a few tables at the weekly yard sales held on your front yard (make sure you don't sell any of the items the landlord's provide in the house, it won't end well). Treat yourself to a beautiful home with wonderful landlords! When you come home from break to this lovely abode, you'll truly feel like you're coming home! Still wondering if this is the house for you? If you answer yes to 5 or more of these statements, it is! If you: love doing dishes by hand, not having hot water due to frozen pipes (to be expected since after all we do live in SIBERIA!), being accused of vandalism, being yelled at through emails (the bold in the emails means they're yelling), if you approve of segregation by color, ovens that don't fit cookie sheets, hearing semis going driving down University, daily earthquakes, not knowing if the roof will cave in on you while showering, or having parties to be attended by the landlords. Also, if you strongly believe in music education for the upcoming generation, I would not live in this home. (Further explanation: the landlords make sure you are aware of their financial situations and how they may constrain their children's inability to attend music lessons or occasionally eat.) Above all, this is a "classy place for classy ladies." For more information, please visit www.eliteestates4u.com. I rented from fall 10 through summer 11. ...
