So far my experience at Callaway Villas has been wonderful. The staff is helpful and friendly and it has every amenity you could ask for. The rooms and furniture are clean, comfortable, and up to date. The units are furnished which is a wonderful help. I moved into the apartment on my own but needed roommates so I really appreciate that they offer roommate matching and have been very pleased with the roommates they matched me with. The staff really cares for their residents and are constantly setting up different events to say thank you to the residents and encourage a sense of community. ...

It has been really great. The amenities are amazing, pool, gym, basketball court and sand volleyball to name a few. The only drawback is that I find it loud, that being said, I grew up in the country and am used to things being very quiet!

Overall, it is has not been horrible but also not the best. I have seen several cockroaches in my unit and there are also places where the plaster is falling of the walls and the molding. Dishwasher, dryer, washing machine, and air conditioning have all been broken or out of service at time, air conditioning and dryer more than one have been broken. That being said, maintenance has always seemed to attend to my work orders fairly quickly. It is also right on the train tracks so that is usually the first thing I wake up to in the morning. Neighbors are also usually loud and blast music on week nights and the walls are so thin is is hard to drown out. But the pool is quite nice and the gym is pretty good. There is also a nice study room that is always vacant when I decide to go, but sometimes smells like skunk *cough cough*. Furniture is quite ugly, couch is very uncomfortable and the mattresses need at least two normal sized mattress pads to be adequate. There is fairly good grounds keeping, but the workers come at about 7am no the noise will wake you up if you are a light sleeper. The most thoughtful thing the units have to offer are white noise things in every room that help a lot with loud noises. The electric bill seems quite high usually. ...

My experience was satisfactory. The place was decent. Location was good. We did have some maintenance issues but I did have to push the maintenance dept to fix the washer which got replaced after it leaked everywhere. But overall it was an okay place to stay. ...

The wifi is kinda sketch and the walls are pretty thin, but I'm happy with the space and the proximity to campus. Good for the price compared to similar off campus housing places from what I've heard. Better than the dorms for sure.

Wow. Where to begin. My three friends and I signed a lease before the Villas where completed last year with promises about how this was pretty much going to be the best place to live in the C-Stat. Unfortunately, that was not even close to the case. For starters they tooted their own horn about the white noise sound suppression and the crazy thick walls and windows to help residents deal with the noise of the train that is literally 10 feet from my bedroom window. The white noise is a total joke and I'm pretty sure the walls are made out of construction paper because I can hear my neighbors sneeze through our connected bedroom wall. That is no joke. The materials used to in this place as so ridiculously cheap that it astounds me. And the staff they employee is by far the worse I have ever encountered at an apartment complex in my life. The office staff is so snobby that you feel like you are being judged as soon as you walk through the front door. And the maintenance staff is just sad. About a day after I moved in my front door stopped closing because the foundation is apparently shifting severely. So I called and requested that they come fix it, and there solution was to take an ice pick and hammer and chip away at the door to make it fit in the doorframe. Nicely done. And after a bunch of girls were sexually assaulted in their apartments last year Callaway decided to "beef up" security by installing new locks on all the doors. The bottom lock on our door has never ever worked. I called the maintenance staff to come fix it and I'm pretty sure they jiggled the door handle and then left, and guess what; it wasn't fixed. The best part is that sometimes if you pay your rent online, which by the way cost you an extra $15, get ready for some nasty red notes on your front door harassing you telling you that you have not paid rent, even though you have. And the parking. Wow the parking. My friends never wanted to come over to my place because they knew that the 5 visitor parking spaces would naturally always be full. But forget about visitors, I have had to park at the neighboring McDonalds before because there are about 30 parking spaces for 400 people. If you are new to the area and are looking for a really nice and solid place to live, let me suggest the Woodlands. Much nicer then Callaway, brand new, and amazingly cheaper. I rented from fall '06 through summer '07. ...
