Having lived here for 4 years I can say that this apartment complex is fantastic. Nestled in the woods off of Lake Johnson state park, the surroundings have the quiet calmness of the forest. Yet, just minutes from downtown Raleigh and Cary, there are
plenty of options for food, entertainment, shopping, etc.
The apartment complex has a large pool (even has a 12ft deep end), tennis and basketball courts, a modestly furnished gym, on site laundry room (although all units have laundry hookups), 16 garden plots available yearly, and easy access to a plethora of trails as well as Lake Johnson. Each unit has a large screened in porch and for those on the forest abutted side, it is a real treat. Watching summer storms from the comfort of a 3rd floor balcony - among the tree tops - is my favorite.
The community is comprised of a mix of families, students & young professionals, blue collar workers, and retirees. My experience is that everyone has been friendly and looks out for the community. Crime is rare and has been minor in nature in its few instances during my time here.
The complex staff is quick to react to any problems you report and the maintenance staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive to detail. The parking lots and grounds are cleaned and cleared regularly. The complex facilities are in good condition and the units themselves are modern and up to date. Fiber internet is available but you cannot have a satellite dish.
Noise from neighboring units can sometimes creep in but that is hard to control in wooden structure complexes. So long as you have a relationship with the neighbors it isn't much of a problem.
