The Fall Semester of 2020 was the first semester I resided at The Gates and attended school as a Junior at BYU-Idaho. My experience at the Gates has been the best housing experience I have had my entire college experience. When I was initially looking for housing, The Gates offered to do a virtual tour of the apartments so I could have a visual idea of what they were like. The staff and managers of The Gates are very friendly and respond to any work orders or appliance complaints very time efficiently. The style of The Gates is comparable to a "townhouse" - a two story apartment with one bedroom on the first floor and stairs that lead to other two bedrooms on the second floor. Thus, The Gates is a 3 bathroom, 3 bedroom apartment complex for 6 roommates total. You have the convenience of walking right up to your door without having to go up flights of stairs to move in or out. Unlike most apartment complexes, The Gates offers laundry services in your apartment, large closets with double doors and in-closet shelving to store all of your belongings, nice new carpet in all the bedrooms and living room areas, and bathrooms that attach to each bedroom. The Gates also has a wonderful feature where you DON'T have to do white glove cleaning checks at the end of the semester compared to the other apartment complexes in the Rexburg Area. While others charge $65 or more, The Gates caps at $25 for their cleaning fee - making finals and move outs as stress free as possible. Parking is another wonderful feature where you only have to pay $50 per semester, while other apartments are closer to $75 or $125. For those who wish to have a bigger bed, closet, bathroom, or bedroom, there is the Oversized Bedroom Option for only $100 more per semester. The only thing I didn't like about the Gates is that the appliances and kitchen cabinets aren't as up-to-date considering the amount you pay per semester to be there. However, my overall experience at the Gates was enjoyable. One of my main reasons because it feels more like a home instead of an apartment. The way they maintain the grounds and style the buildings allows students to feel as “at home” as possible. ...

So far my experience has been great! The residence is beautiful! The apartments are well kept and nice. The staff is friendly and there are lots of cool things to do in your free time if you don't have anything to do. Lots of fun!
