I lived at Brookview for 2 years. The maintenance staff is really nice, specially Mike who makes sure everything is in order.
But the plumbing in the apartment is a joke. I had to call maintenance at least once a month. We had a hole in our kitchen for
a week because of water leakage, a bathroom sink overflow that dumped our dining room carpet and a number of other issues.Mike offered us to have our carpet cleaned because of that but we knew we would probably be moving out because of job relocation we did not bother.
Our surprise was when we got a bill after we left charging us for carpet cleaning. We never thought that they would rent that apartment with the existing carpet that was in a pretty bad shape because of the bathroom problem.
They changed the management recently and it is very hard to get the new manager to reasonably listen to what you are saying. I talked to her about what happened and she asked me if Mike gave me the offer to clean the carpet in writing. So, don't trust those people. Mike is great but the office staff are very unreliable.
Well, my point is: if you want to live in a place that has a lot of plumbing issues and that will try to get as much money from you as they can when you leave, Brookview is the place for you. I was really happy there before they sold the complex and replaced the management team.
BTW, I have been renting for a while and I have never been asked to pay for carpet cleaning after staying over a year.
I rented from summer '06 through spring '08.
