As a GE Coop, I did a short term lease at the commons; spring 2010. They were nice in the beginning and seemed easy to get along with. When we moved out, however, it was a different story all together. We left the place spotless; scrubbed the bathroom, floors, refrigerator, cabinet doors, oven, countertops, vacuumed the spotless carpet which never had anything spilled on it... you get what I'm saying. We even had one of the office employees perform a preliminary walk through to make sure she couldn't see anything that we missed. She noticed the hood over the stove was dusty thank goodness; so we dusted it too before we left. Two weeks later, they mailed me a bill!! The commons said it required $260 of "additional cleaning!" Their lease specifically said, "..., the resident can be assessed for any of the below listed work required:" When they say "CAN" they mean "WILL" find a way to take your money; ethically or not. So do not let them fool you as they did me. They hope that once you leave town you will not take action to protect your rights. There are plenty of other apartment communities right next door, please go to them. I rented from spring 10 through spring 10. ...
