First, the office staff do not make themselves available to deal with tenants. They only take calls from 2-5 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. They use caller ID to screen whether they will answer a call.
They are unreliable
with keeping appointments to make repairs. The buildings have major problems with leaks. In a few years I've been here, my ceiling has collapsed several times causing damage. During the cold winter months, we rarely have hot water. When I first moved in, the utility bills that the landlord is responsible for were well overdue and slated for disconnection. The electric company had sent the bill to all the tenants for the $4,000 payment that the landlord did not submit.
The property manager engages in a lot of unfair and unethical practices.
The property manager, Susan, is really disrespectful in the way she treats her tenants. She yells at tenants and hangs up on them.
My building has had a very high turnover of supers in a short time.
I rented from fall '06 through fall '09.
