A very stressful place to live! Traffic noise and pollution is awful. New Management is impossible to deal with. We were happy to get out!!! I rented from summer '05 through spring '08.

I lived there for 2 years, but after paying the increase in rent upon my first yearly re-sign, when the second one came asking for another huge increase I had to go. I originally moved there as I was looking for a studio for less then $2000...It was a VERY small studio, HOWEVER it was on the 29th floor and had a balcony with a GORGEOUS view....I was happy giving up the space inside for the outdoor space and the buildings amenities, which included doorman, office center (computer/internet access, copy machine, small meeting room), and the Crunch gym downstairs, to which you received a discounted membership. I originally rented for $1970, but when the rent was creeping towards $2500, I said to myself: "Number 1: I could find an adorable 1 bedroom for hundreds less in a lesser building; and Number 2: I think this increase is a rip-off for a tenant in good standing, and on principle I think I'll leave." I disagree with the earlier poster who said "the price was too high for so far west, etc."...in fact, I actually think with the rising market value in that area, the prices weren't that off, even those under the new managements regime...HOWEVER, I think that tenants who only add something to the building with their timely payments, courteous demeanor, and general involvement with he buildings staff and tenants, should be given a break and not taken for every last penny. As for the management...all of us tenants used to complain about the old management and their meddling and sometimes obnoxious ways, but we had it easy compared to the new management...they were UNBELIEVABLY snotty. I was not "white trash" as another poster mentioned...far from it....but agree with that poster that they were on a rampage to "clean out" a building that was full of nothing but lovely, high-class people. It's really a shame what they did...I was friends with oodles of amazing people in that building, all young professionals, and we all ended up leaving. Incidentally...I found an adorable 1 bedroom on the east side for $700 less with my own private outdoor space. I'm in heaven over here. Good luck and Happy Hunting!! I rented from spring '05 through spring '07. ...
