Summerhill Pointe has become increasingly bad in the past three years and it is now almost totally different than it was! Apparently, the management has loosened up the requirements to rent there and it shows. It began about two years ago, when I saw approximately 20 Hispanic males come out of an apartment each morning. A mini-bus unloaded them all in the afternoon, when their work day was over. I asked Carmen, in the main office about this, and was told that they rented to "corporations" and that meant that about 20, probably illegal, Mexican workers lived in the apartments. There were several of these apartments in the complex, packed with young men, probably sleeping on sleeping bags, like sardines, on the floors of the bedrooms. Carmen was a particulary rude employee of the complex and was never helpful. About one year ago, many disturbances happened at Summerhill.Police visits are now common and just one week ago, there was a home invasion robbery. One huge concern, also, is that the management actively tows cars, some when they have expired tags for just one day. A friend had her car towed when it was parked backwards and there was no warning. One man had his car towed when his handicapped placard fell and was not visible. The problem is that Summerhill actively patrols the lots and gives "kickbacks" to the tow companies. It is bad business and it creates bad customer service. The people who now live at Summerhill Pointe are generally more rowdy and "gangs" of young people loiter in the parking lots. Vehicle thefts are common. Here is a copy of the LVPD Crime Report for the 9500 block of West Sahara for the past month: 14 REPORTED CRIMES AT SUMMERHILL IN THE PAST 30 DAYS!!! So, in my opinion, it is not a good idea to rent from Summerhill Pointe Apartments. It is a pit of hell and run by very lousy people. Do not go there!!!!!!! I rented from winter '06 through fall '09. ...
