The place is nice in many ways. You have good location, a clubhouse with pool table and fitness center, a pool, picnic/grilling area. The environment is pretty laid back. It's a mix of younger people with a bit of money and older people looking to downsize from a big house. Everyone is pretty friendly and lots of times, there will be groups of people in the picnic/pool area just hanging out and making friends. There is a park and ride to NYC (Wall Street area and Port Authority) with free parking, just 1 mile away. You are 10 mins to the beach. Closets and bathrooms are huge. All this is nice... but there are a lot of issues. First off, the place was made so poorly, it's pathetic. The place is brand new and it already feels like the stairs in the building may collapse underneath you. As well as the carpet, drywall, paint, and fixtures appearing as if they were put in by children volunteers and not professionals. I am still spending money trying to fix things here, after 3 months. The clubhouse, picnic/grilling area, and pool are always filthy dirty. The lawn is always soaking wet, due to over-watering. add to it that they never mow the lawn anywhere but by the leasing office/pool and it makes it seem like a swamp around here. The maintenance is ridiculous. I had the fire alarm going off one night, called at 230 am (when it went off) for help, and didn't get a call back until 530. The guy then told me "We haven't been trained on how to work on those." Didn't matter though. The guy never showed up at all and the alarm continued to go off through the day. The staff, except for maybe one person, is snooty, stiff, unknowledgeable, and unable to help anyone. They give you the "Yeah... we'll have someone look at that." Nothing ever gets done.Another note is, this place is a "luxury apartment" complex, but what they don't tell you is that 20% of the houses are for low income housing. You have people in here that are paying less than half of what you are paying for rent. Single moms with 5 kids, punk kids running around late at night, trashing the clubhouse. I'm all for someone trying to catch a break, but they don't disclose it to you when you sign up, and by law they should. Overall, it just depends on how much you can tolerate.
