I lived at Rock Creek Apartments during college sophomore year due to its more affordable price -- however, its distance from the university made it less than desirable; the inconvenience was only made better by the fact that I had a car. I lived with one roommate to split the rent in half (fortunately, the 2-bed apartment itself was evenly split) and split most of the utilities in half. She had much of the living room furniture. We had not realized that the first floor apartment that we had picked would actually be the basement floor. It was dark and quite damp; not what we were initially hoping for as we did not manage to visit the place beforehand. However, it was spacious and quiet, had a backdoor that led straight out to a patio and a shortcut to the bus through the woods. The apartment itself had a pool, gym, and recreational area, all which I used relatively extensively and were very good. I don't quite remember how the front desk reception was -- for several years, they had relatively mixed reviews but I don't recall particularly terrible experiences besides them first assigning us our apartment. Over all, I had a couple of better experiences at other apartments, though Rock Creek was one of the more fully inclusive apartments because of its distance. For a professional or grad student, it may be a better choice. I would otherwise recommend against it during college unless you are looking to pay a bit less than other off-campus apartments. ...
