Glen Lennox shares the same charm as the Town of Chapel Hill. The apartments are single story cottage-type units, which are very cozy and quaint. That's about the only positive thing I can say about this place. Here are some of my experiences in the 9 months that I have lived here: 1. The place just isn't well-kept. Cutting the grass once every two weeks is the only maintenance that ever occurs. Neighbors leave garbage cans and recycle bins outside and on the streets, which not only makes the place look dirty but attracts a lot of unwanted critters. 2. The parking - they finally started giving out street parking decals so you can park your car on the street. This alleviates the parking issue, but now you have rows of cars parked on each side of the street, which makes both driving and jogging/running a hazard. 3. Noise! I get it! It's a college town and you're going to have a few rowdy college kids. But that's not my complaint. The college kids that used to live to my left were great. The neighbor on the right, unfortunately, has no clue. Throughout the day (meaning 24 hours), he's either playing music loud, or doing something that vibrates the entire building. Several complaints and conversations with the neighbor have led nowhere. 4. The staff bias. There are double standards for staff who rent here. Normal tenants can only have satellite dishes on either the back or front porch (which makes it nearly impossible to get a signal since Chapel Hill is full of tall evergreens). However, the guys who work there can place the satellite dish on a 5 foot pole near the apartment in order to get a clear signal. When asked if I could to the same, I was told no. Every time I complain about this, I'm told "he (the employee with the dish) is going to take it down. 8 months since my first complaint and the dish is still there. 5. Problem with roaches, fleas, etc... I've never had a problem with roaches or mice or fleas (I don't own a pet) anywhere, but I have experienced them all in the 9 months I've been at Glen Lennox. There are cheaper and better places to live in or near Chapel Hill. This place is just NOT worth it. The worst part is that complaining and voicing your dissatisfaction doesn't get you anywhere. I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...
