Best neighbourhood in NYC: despite an initial appearance of perhaps being unsafe or unwelcoming, it is the warmest, kindest neighbourhood in New York. Affordable and fun and fantastically connected to the rest of the city.

Bushwick is a great location when still a college student. It's past gentrification, so of course you're contributing, but you also need a place to live, and it's all very confusing but hey! At this point you're most likely just taking the apartment away
from a white person.

Wherever you are in Brooklyn, respect the space and be friendly to your neighbors. If you're moving into an apartment with existing roommates, be sure to learn and ask honest questions about the previous roommate. Don't feel like you're intruding because
you are applying to live and exist in the space.

I would say that my experience has not been a good one, I've lived here for about 10-15 y ears now and I've seen all kinds of horrible things. From stealing to running from the cops, or hearing gun shots and gang activity.

It is trendy. A lot of things to do. I am surrounded by parks which I love. It is an easy commute to the city. I live close to a trader joes, and a whole foods so I have access to healthy foods. I would definitely recommend this city.

Great neighborhood, can find affordable options. Food can be pricy sometimes but overall great experiences. Very close to the city - 15 mins and you are in Union Square. l train nearby which runs often.
