The Grandmarc is not in a good neighborhood as of 2021, but it is a secured building and is generally safe inside. It is very close to the U’s West Bank campus (you can see the law school from it) and is adjacent to a light rail station and a bus stop, meaning it is very easy to get where you need to be. Another plus is in-unit laundry. ...

Grandmarc is a great place to live if you are attending the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. It is in a convenient location, especially if you have classes on the west bank. It is a safe and well-maintained complex.

Hidden payment for everything£¬even for opening the door when you forget your key. $200 fee for move in-and-out£¬when you renew the lease£¬they asked you to move out on Aug10. To avoid this movement you need to pay. $250 for sublease. There's no other apartment ask for such £¢contract changing fee£¢£¡ Utility fee for no reason£¬just look up for the other reviews. Over $2000 for cleaning the carpet. $100 to change the window blinds. And for the furniture and kitchen staff£¬$100 to unkown price. Some said they paid for the broken items when it had already broke before they moved in. And the manager lied that they lost the check list paper£¡ So£¬if you rich enough£¬and could bear the rude and ridiculis of these people here£¬then go ahead£¡ Else£¬ let this place go to hell. I rented from fall 10 through summer 11. ...

Parking absolutely sucks, but if you can look past it/if you don't have a vehicle then this is a great place to live. Many people like to complain about the location, but if you are a Carlson School of Management student or any U of M student then you can catch a bus to the other areas of campus. Unless of course all you are concerned about is your social life, then yes, it is a hike every Thurs-Sat night to dinkytown/Como. The staff can be rude and standoff-ish at times but they still do their job for you regardless. The gameroom is nice and the workout room/tanning room was very convenient to use. It remains to be the cheapest rent I have had to pay. ...

I lived at GrandMarc during from Aug2010-Aug2011, and absolutely loved it there. While living there I just thought it was an average normal place to live. But until this year (a year after living there) I never really realized how good my roommates and I had it. I lived in a 2 bedroom 2 bath with 3 of my other friends. Our two bedrooms each had a den attached to them so it was almost as if we each had our own little rooms. The closets were big and had plenty of room. The bathrooms were also big and spacious! We got really lucky and had some really fun neighbors across the hall that we became pretty good friends with. The only down side of living over on westbank is on the weeknds if you want to go out to the other bank or down town walking or riding the bus can be a pain in a but. We always traveled in groups and would call cabs or the Gopher Shouffer, but otherwise on week days for class or getting down town for work it was perfect location! Very close to bus lines! Also, the best perks of living at grand marc was the free printing, grills in the court yards, and the free work out room! I never realized how awesome it was to have all this stuff right out side of my door. It made everything so much more conveinent. I would definitely recommend this place to others! We did have one problem over winter break where our floors flooded. Apparently the plumming or garbage disposal got plugged up, and everything drained below our unit which was on the first floor. We immediately called maintenance and they took care of it that night and the next day. They were very responsive and took care of everything! -Great place to live! ...

Very poor customer service, more concerned about payment than helping the residents. Very noisy, could easily hear neighbors through the walls. Lack of security, lack of public parking, poor garage parking, hallways were always very dirty. Very over priced for what is offered. Do not go into Grand Marc looking to be put with a random roommate. They may say that they match based on "common interests," but in reality it is just what is most convenient to them. Save yourself several headaches and don't live here. I rented from fall '09 through summer 10. ...

This place sucked. over priced for a fraction of a room being shared by four other people. Plus student housing doesn't bother checking positive roommate matches. I rented from summer '07 through summer '07.
