Although this apartment is a bit of a walk from the main part of campus, I have enjoyed living here. It is a fair price for several types of rooms and the staff is friendly and very helpful. It also comes with a parking space option.

University Commons is a fairly decent place to live if you're looking for a reasonably priced apartment near the U of M. Private bedrooms cost a lot less than they do at a lot of the other fancier apartments on campus. Appliances are kind of dated (at least in my building), and the walls are sort of thin within the unit, but haven't had many problems with hearing the neighbors from inside my own apartment. Also pretty cheap parking options compared to a lot of other places I looked at too!! ...

To the employee working the front Desk on October 4, 2014 you suck. You never try to do well at your job and dealing with you is always a pain in my ass. Simple things like getting a package you make it seem like i'm cutting into your personal time which is crap because most of the time you AREN'T EVEN BUSY DOING ANYTHING! other things like helping getting online payment figured out so that I can actually login in to pay my rent and not have to do checks you don't even try. I just needed to make sure the login information was correct and you are being a dick about it. To anyone reading this know that I will not be living here next year 95% due to this employee. I rented from fall '00 through spring '01. ...

I had a horrible experience here. It is extremely overpriced for the poor quality of the apartments. Parking here is awful and the traffic is fairly loud. If you have a room facing the hot tub are you better hope that no one uses it late. There were many nights where my roommates and I were kept awake by the yelling and music coming from the hot tub which the security guard did nothing about. Any maintenance you need takes forever or never happens. If you plan on subleasing at all I would reconsider. The people who work in the leasing office may tell you it will be easy to find someone, while I found that was not the case. The location of this building is another negative if you plan on spending time around Dinkytown. ...

I had an awful experience. This place is employed by morons. The manager is a dick and is constantly trying to trick you out of money (word games in the lease). On multiple occasions, I have had someone come into my bedroom with no prior notification. The construction is shoddy - everything falls apart if you breath on it wrong. The freezer/ fridge aren't cold - food spoils in a few days. The washer and dryer don't really work. The fire alarm goes off if you open the stove when it's hot. When something is broken it takes them weeks and many reminders to fix it. This place is ridiculously overpriced. Don't be fooled by the "amenities." The internet company is junk as well. Don't live here - you will be sorry. Also - I am trying to build a case against this place, if you're a resident/ former resident and feel that your rights have been violated, contact me at us.sucks@yahoo.com I rented from fall '07 through spring '08. ...

Great apartments, great furniture. The walk is nothing to campus in summer, but a little cold in winter. Nothing someone can't handle. Would recommend to anyone. I rented from fall '06 through fall '07.
