If I could go back and do this all over I'd skip out on all of my experiences I've had while staying at Southport. This include having a vehicle stolen, difficulty finding a parking place, accusation of not paying rent when we have never missed a payment, snotty office staff that is always less than helpful, an unhelpful jerk of a corporate complex manager (Jeff I think), and an overall pain in the butt. The reason we lived here as long as we did was simply out of necessity. All other places in the correct location were way out of our price range and when we first moved into Southport it was in considerably better shape then it is now. When we call for maintenance repairs they won't tell us how long it will take, it is generally a gross over estimate, and after they are completed they aren't done properly. For example, the tile in our shower was falling out and the drywall behind was black and moldy. We called an asked them to repair it and all they did was re-grout the tile in not replace any of the severely damaged drywall. Our air conditioning hasn't been working properly for the past few summers. We ask them to recharge it with coolant, check the fuses, and they don't ever really fix the problem. Maybe the unit needs to be replaced but they won't do it. The snow removal in the winter is atrocious, they often plow in cars and take days to remove the snow. There are rarely enough parking spaces in close proximity to the apartment. It seems like there are enough spaces but everyone puts leaves more then two cars and it takes up all the spaces. The internet available, AT&T, is horrible and goes out frequently because of the rain, and they only offer the "cable" through the apartment complex. The "cable" they offer has very few channels, poor quality, and when you want to cancel it they give you a hard time and jerk you around. If you don't want there cable you have to use satellite TV and that is only available at certain apartments because of signal strength. In addition to all of these annoyances, our vehicle was stolen while we lived here. When we contacted the complex they couldn't have cared less. They didn't offer to contact the police, tell us if this was a problem at the complex, or offer to drive around and see if it had been dumped somewhere on their property. Skip Edward Rose properties including this one. It is more hassle then it's worth. I rented from fall '07 through fall 10. ...

good place to live dont live on the first floor you may get flooded. and get renters insurance!!! a few car thefts and break ins. nice place to live very quiet. always prompt with service calls. only thing that sucks... no cable internet!!! you cant get comcast or wow! I rented from fall '06 through fall '07. ...
