I live in a complex just bought by a McCormack Baron in Ann Arbor, MI. This year my rent is going up a whopping $285 or 33% with 30-60 days notice VS $10-$20 for the decade I have lived here. New management does not care that they are losing long term tenants. I have a meticulous record of paying rent for the decade I've lived here. I've never been late once yet they would rather see me leave, flip my apartment and take a chance on some other tenant. The windows need to be replaced and always have yet new management informed me that they are not investing in Lakestone. The ceiling in my apartment has leaked 5 times in the last year due to my upstairs neighbor but I've been told to live with it. The location is nice and maintenance is great but management could care less about us. I'm getting absolutely nothing but a 33% rent increase. My apartment has been untouched for 8-9 years but when I asked for the upgrades that other apartments have, management tells me " The ownership isn't planning on any type of renovation to the apartments at Lakestone at this time". Run as fast as you can away from this company and any place it runs. I rented from fall 2009 through summer 2019. ...

Prior to our new ownership, I would have given Lakestone 5+ star rating. We were just bought by a for profit company that is notorious for buying mixed income communities and then pricing them to the max.
