It was good for a cheap apartment for any college student, however, it was not safe. The neighborhood was loud all throughout many nights, with greek life having parties and dances right in the middle of the roads. Maintenance was okay, but they would
take their sweet time and most of the time they would need to come more than once for the same thing. The staff was friendly when you first sign, then they lose their friendliness. The roads are absolutely horrid, they have huge potholes, one that wasn't filled my whole year there. The price is okay, myself paying $400 plus utilities split between my three other roommates a month. The location is the best part, being right across the main campus. However, if you value safety and security along with at least a decent apartment and appliances, then this is not the place for you.

This place was nice for the price. There are a lot of apartments in the complex. Basically you pay 390 a month for an unfurnished room and you get your own bedroom, your own bathroom and then you share a kitchen and living room with up to 3 other people.
The 390 a month covers basically every bill though. TV is included, so is electricity, water and everything else. If you go over a certain amount on your electricity bill then you pay the overages but it isn't that much extra normally. It's directly across campus so that's nice. When I moved in it was completely safe, I didn't hear of any crimes happening. Right before I moved out peoples places started getting broken into but it was mostly people who left their doors unlocked or open. I still felt safe their though. The complex is probably at least 90% African American, but it isn't bad. The cops came a few times when I was living there but only to break up parties really, it was nothing bad. All in all I really liked it there and it was a great place for the price.
I rented from fall '08 through spring 10.
