I moved to Lakeside Villas apartments when I started attending Full Sail and it's close to the university. Good location to Banks, grocery store and shopping. Medical facilities are close also. There have been some safety issues and burglaries but over I still live here and looking forward to complete my Master's degree. ...

I moved into Lakeside Villas with my wife 3 months ago and have regretted it ever since. The staff is rude and disrespectful (at best). Case in point - I called at 11pm with a maintenance emergency -- my roof was leaking (not small leaks, but a torrential gusher of water that streamed down from a hole in the roof directly into my living room for the entire night) -- and was effectively told "too bad" and that they were only an answering service and they would have someone call me during normal business hours. This was on a Saturday night and it wasn't until MONDAY that apartment management finally got around to informing me that that they would be out to look at my unit the next day. By this time my TV and all the electrical components (Sony Bravia surround sound control unit, Wii, blu-ray player, etc) were fried. At least now I understand why Lakeside requires its residents to carry renter's insurance... had I not been carrying it, I'd have been out a lot more than my $1,000 deductible (which Lakeside refused to pay, stating that it wasn't their responsibility that my property was damaged --- "if it had been moved in time, the damage never would have taken place". I'm currently determing my rights as a lessee, since I can't believe that this is a legal (or moral/ethical/responsible) stance to take with a resident who was dumped on (quite literally!). Also, there are young people CONSTANTLY out in the swimming pool making lots of noise and being drunk at all hours of the night - my wife and I have been woken up at 2am, 3am, and 4am repeatedly on weekends due to their drunken rowdiness and general lack of civility. I went down to the pool one night and asked the two groups of kids to please quiet down if they insisted on staying there, and was cursed at while dodging a full beer can that one of the teens launched at my head, then listened as multiple glass bottles broke into shards of razor-sharp glass after they were thrown at my patio after I retreated. I told the manager of the apartment complex and she said that "per the contract I signed, they were not responsible in any way for the actions of guests of the apartments" and furthermore, "any damage to my apartment would be billed to me". To add insult to injury, the next day I found what looked like a homemade pipe covered in aluminum foil (I was told that people use this sort of thing to smoke crack cocaine with) in the bushes near my parking spot. I am highly disappointed that we moved into an apartment complex like this, and will NOT be renewing the lease in April 2012. Stay away from "Lakeside Villas"!!! I rented from spring 11 through fall 11. ...
