This is probably about the best deal for a 1 bedroom in Bloomington. You get all the major appliances (fridge, freezer, microwave, range, washer, dryer, dishwasher) included for a reasonable price. The floorplan is a little weird in that it is closed and the space for cooking is very limited, but at least the bathroom is not located off the bedroom so you have to have your guests moving through there. The heating/cooling unit is fairly efficient. The appliances and fixtures are relatively new. There are a few caveats, however: (1) The bus only runs every 15 or 20 minutes on school days and not at all at any other time. (2) Occasionally, it is a challenge to find a parking spot at your particular building. (3) While the soundproofing is generally quite good in between units that are next to each other, the soundproofing is non-existent between the two floors. In addition, the floorboards easily give under anybody's weight (even 100 lbs), so those downstairs hear all that (it's worst in the bathroom). However, if you are in a top unit you can still hear a good deal of what's going on downstairs, so hope that your neighbors don't like to argue. (4) Sometimes you need to look well when you back out and maneuver through the parking lot because some of the other drivers move through the parking lot faster than they should and you might not see them. The visitor parking really stinks. There are often too few spaces Thursday through Saturday night, and if you are a visitor outside the designated spaces, they tow you at your expense ($80.00). This is pretty good for residents, though; there's always residential parking available. The apartments are nice: they're usually fairly quiet in the back near the one-bedrooms, but there's parties and a pretty good social life near the front (multiple BR). The rent is on the high side of average, but for the excellent condition and size of the apartments, it's worth it if you have the money. The living room carpet is a little ugly, but it hides stains well. The bathroom is also in a weird place. ...
