Choosing to live in Garden District Apartments my sophmore year was the probably the worst decision I have made in a quite a while. Little did I know the following 14 months of my lease were going to be filled with harrasment and arguments from the staff. They towed my car after I complained constantly for about three weeks that I had no where to park in a parking lot that I payed money every month so park in. When I went to the office with the concern about my car they told me that it was my fault and had not one of my complaints on file even though I had complained about 8 times. The maintenence men have seen me without clothes on maybe three times because they just walk in the apartments whenever they want and don't make themselves known and also do not wear uniforms so you have no idea who they are when you are looking at them standing in front of you when you think you are the only person in your aparment. Anything that I had a problem with and needed to be fixed either went unfixed or took about 3 weeks to even begin to be fixed. I was constantly charged overage fees for my power even though I was told when I signed my lease that everything was all inclusive. The staff is incredibly rude and obviously does not care about the welfare of its tenants. I particularly remember an incidence when the battery of my friend's car died and the maintenance man asked me if I needed help and told he would come right back to jump us off. Two hours later we were still waiting for his help that never came. Any question I had went unanswered but the moment one of my parents called it seemed that the manager never had any idea what I was talking about and that I was crazy for making things up. To be completely honest I have never been more unhappy in my living environment in my life. The dorms were even better. The best advice I can give you is to find somewhere else to live. I rented from summer '08 through summer '09. ...

Garden District is a horrible apartment complex for students. The management is rude and unwilling to work with you. The rent was $395 all inclusive, however, during the summer months you can pay up to $100 extra just for A/C. They are allowed to come in your apartment whether you are home or not. They also put everyone in your apartment on seperate leases which means if one person moves out they will move a perfect stranger into your place. If you want a good place to live...look elsewhere!
