I have lived in this complex off and on for over 8 years. Gil and Charlie ran the place, up until a few years ago. They were amazing. Since then, there's been a rotating door of managers - some good, some okay. None to the caliber of Gil and Charlie. The latest is the worst so far. We have had issues that have been partially fixed, and the maintenance ticket closed before the job is done. The complex's ticket management is abhorring. We have an unpainted wall from where our ceiling caved in, which took several visits for the maintenance team to get right. They blamed the tub and re-caulked it, but the caulking began cracking a week later, and the tub wasn't even the problem. The problem was the tarp that had been draped over the spot inside the ceiling where the water was leaking, as an obvious postponement of the problem. The tarp finally overflowed with water and soaked our ceiling quickly until it crumbled. It broke some of our smaller belongings. They came to fix that, patch up the ceiling, and marked the ticket complete. The wall remains unpainted. We will put in another ticket. The latest problem had us out of power in half of the apartment for 3 or more days because it was a weekend. This included our stove. I personally called the office number to get the on-call maintenance number. The outgoing message (who is Gil's voice, GEEZ I wish he was still here) stated the same number from 6+ years ago. I called and the message stated that the person was "not taking calls at this time". After telling Hannah, her response was that I called the wrong number. Abhorring. Our renewal letter came, listing our options to renew - one of them being that failure to renew would result in a $X rent plus water charge per month. Management texted me asking if we were renewing; I informed them that I would do what the letter said and pay the stated price month to month. I was advised that it would also include $100 fee, not stated in the letter. So now I have to lawyer up; fortunately one of my friends is an experienced lawyer and will help me out. But wow, what a headache. For nearly $1500 per month, and as a business owner, I expect better service, attention to tickets, and overall a more secure feeling living in my home. ...

I chose this place for two reasons, Lake Ella and Tallahassee mall. Lake Ella is extremely close and I would often go there to study. Also the mall is just down the road. My roommate and I would often go there to the movies. It is a bit of a drive to get to FAMU but the location makes up for it. It has washer/dryer/refrigerator ... pretty much everything I need. Oh, and Lake Ella is just a few hundred feet away. I rented from summer '08 through summer '09. ...

my one bedroom apt is spacious and right near midtown, lake ella, and the police station. It's generally pretty quiet, the staff was friendly and its affordable. I rented from fall '08 through fall '09.
