I've really enjoyed living in this complex. I have had no bad experiences, no awful or rude neighbors. The proximity to campus and other shopping locations is ideal for a UCSD student. It's a great place to live as an undergraduate.

La Jolla International Gardens was one of the nicer apartment buildings near UCSD. It's right next to La Scala Apartments, which is an older building and most apartment units have a mold problem at La Scala due to poor ventilation. On the other hand, International Gardens is newer and doesn't have those problems yet. It's located next to two bus stops that take you to UCSD and about a 30 minute drive. I felt really safe at IG, without any issues. Their amenities include a pool, volleyball court, and small gym. The apartments all have outdoor entrances, and the apartments almost feel like an outdoor hotel. For parking, they give every resident a parking pass that is required for overnight parking. One bedroom apartments get one parking stall in a garage. Our parking spot was located in Garage 1, which was the tiniest garage I've ever seen in my life. It had 'two lanes' but it was the size of one lane, the parking spaces were compact, and regular or small sized cars still stuck out of their spaces. It was almost impossible to get my car into a spot and out of a spot. One time, a truck was parked in the spot behind my car and I didn't have enough room to back out. Ever since, I just did outside parking. All of the other garages were regular sized, but just this one seemed to be extraordinarily small for some reason. ...
