RIP OFF!!!! Walls are SUPER THIN and if you are not on the top floor, GOOD LUCK SLEEPING! The floors are so thin I can hear my upstairs neighbor use the restroom, chop food, close cabinets, knocks on their door, retarded kids run around, I know when they get out of bed in the middle of the night for a fat snack. They sell you on amenities...what a bunch of crap. The "heated year round" pool is about as warm as the hot water in the bathrooms. Oh yeah, good luck taking a hot shower at rush hour when everyone is getting ready in the morning...while you are bending down to get wet below the 4.5' high shower head. Try to also remember that for some stupid reason all of the hot handles are on the right side and cold is on the left. The gym is another joke...IF the equipment works and the pins are not stolen for the weights, you might be able to work out IF there's not a bunch of half naked 10 year old's running around (its located 5 feet from the "heated" "Kids" pool). 2 of the 4 treadmills don't work, 1 of which slips as you run which will really wake you up in the morning when you almost get a mouth full of metal. The last time I used the gym, there was a girl and boy...must have been about 15 years old having sex in the girls restroom. About 4 "management" had to get them out. Last I saw, the jacuzzi was yellow with caution tape surrounding with a hand written sign saying "closed"...no reason, just closed. Probably closed like the laundry room was. This is a good one. One day, everyone gets a letter saying there will be "renovations" done to the laundry room from 1/2/09 thru 1/15/09 and will be closed. The laundry room was re-opened 2/6/09...OVER A MONTH LATER with no apologies or reduction in rent for the month...I mean after all, I WAS SOLD ON THE "AMENITIES" as being why the rent was so damn high. Make sure you also do not leave a crumb of food around because the cockroaches are sure to find it. Some tenants almost had to get a lawyer because of the cockroach problem. Milano says it's because of "renovations". I have been here a while and they are still "renovating". I guess renovating means "hire the cheapest Korean husband and wife teams you can and if that doesn't work, screw the tenants...what can they do...they signed a lease". Oh yeah, your lease is set in stone. Doesn't matter if your restroom floods, and your drains smell like sewage. Now, if you are a sucker like me even after reading this and still decide to move in here, hope you have friends outside of your living space. The people here (if they speak English) are not speaking to you. You would think they live in Bel Air they are so rude. IF YOU GET A PARKING SPACE consider yourself a god. There are like 200+ units and only 160 spaces. They will give you the b.s. line "I park right on the side here everyday and never have a problem finding parking". B.S. This is one of 4 LARGE apartment buildings just on this corner and EVERYONE parks on the street. You will be lucky to find parking a block or two east. This is not an exaggeration. Many a time I will make 2 very long walks to may apartment to unload groceries. I am a VERY unsatisfied tenant who has let this fact be known many times with the only response being "We can move you to another unit with a renewed lease and new deposit". WTF? This place is SO over priced, the only reason I even got suckered in was the $99 "for a limited time" deposit which is still going on. Basically, this building is owned by Fairfield Properties ( www.fairfield-properties.com ) which owns tons of real estate and has very good lawyers that you would be dumb trying to go up against. All I can say is I warned you if you sign a lease here. This place sucks. Oh and by the way, the high price for a place to live doesn't stop there...add in the UTILITIES with NO PARKING SPACE. ***UTILITIES - are split up between EVERYONE in your building. So, if you are one person in a studio and there is a 2 bedroom with 4 people living there...guess what, you are helping to pay for the 4 peoples water and gas through some company called AUM. Electrical is NOT covered in this and you have to pay your own. Also, you MUST carry a $100,000 renters insurance policy. This is such crap. If the building's renovations are so great then why are they so worried about it burning down? Was the electrical done by non-licensed Korean workers? Are they planning to burn the place down because they can make more off the insurance since they cannot keep the place rented (Search "MILANO" in Los Angeles CRAIGSLIST and see how many adds pop up)? I rented from winter '08 through spring '08. ...
