2/22/2008 I've been at this apartment for 3 years, so normally I'm a very loyal resident. However, once El Dorado Pointe was purchased by a new management company, I began having frequent problems with them. Now, they couldn't pay ME to stay. 1) They increased the cost of utilities AGAINST the terms of our signed lease. I had to fight them to arrive at a compromise that STILL wasn't what was in writing when the lease was signed. 2) They have accused me of not paying rent EVEN THOUGH I have a receipt from them showing that rent was paid before the 1st. 3) They make additions to the property then charge residents for the work, even though this is not permissible. I've had to fight them numerous times to resist paying these bogus charges. 4) They refuse to put charges in writing. They'll tell you low numbers to make you happy, but when the charges come back higher, you have no recourse. They simply tell you, "That wasn't in writing." My attempts to get them to put charges in writing has met adamant resistance from the staff. I would not recommend ANYONE living here. I rented from summer '05 through winter '08. ...
