For a building located in the heart of Skid Row, it is ridiculously snobbish. The "homeowners," who forked over ridiculous sums of money to live in what they hoped would become Manhattan on the West Coast, don't like much about their neighborhood as it is and especially don't like the lowly renters, like myself. Their attitude is: Renter's don't contribute to the building as they do and so we are not entitled to the same services. The building management is rude and refuses to deal with you if you are a renter. If you have any maintenance issues or repairs, you're on your own. The lofts only offer one parking space and security is instructed to harass and tow away cars parked in guest parking, so forget about having friends over. There are a number of rules and regulations in the Homeowner's Association manual that you are supposed to follow, but no one will give you a copy of it. Although renters were just recently allowed to attend the monthly meetings about building issues, renters are NOT allowed to speak. These "Homeowners" should be happy there are renters willing to rent in the building because nobody is buying here and those who did buy can't sell. If it weren't for renters, the building would be more than half empty. The truth is the homeless people on the streets around the building - the drunks, drug addicts, panhandlers, drug dealers, mentally ill, etc - are a hell of a lot warmer and friendlier than these "Homeowners" and make better neighbors. Don't live here. I rented from fall '07 through fall '08. ...
