Recently there has been several thefts at the Oaks apartment complex, I personally know of 6 within the last 6 months, and I was hit 4 times with 3 break-ins, and 1 attempt within this same period, an estimated loss of property and damage to my vehicles’ extending $10,000.00. With the most recent theft occurring last night (Sunday after mid-night to some time Monday morning before 7am, on Monday October 9, 2007) Equipment stolen from my truck exceeding $5,700.00 that I use for my personal part-time business as a handyman. The Irvine management has indicated a few months ago that they have 6 security officers covering 8 apartment complexes from 9pm through 7 am, 7 days a week. With the last noticed distributed by Northpark management (The Irvine Company Apartment Communities) in the previous week stated that they are changing the security contract with a different company, and that there should be no interruptions with security services. We have made several complaints the local management at the leasing office with no remedial action plans for this problem. - Today I spoke to a S.J. Police Officer while obtaining a police report, and asked, “Is this a typical problem here at Northpark?”, his reply was, “yes” – I asked why, The Officer stated the following; “Because there are hundreds of vehicles in a single location with minimum security and no video surveillance in this parking garage, and it is also hidden from general public scrutiny” – Now that said, how many of you had a similar problem with someone vandalizing, or having your personal property stolen from your vehicles at the Irvine Company Apartment Complex?
