The location, neighborhood, and neighbors is what keeps people living here. The people who maintain the place can and will gang up on tenants they dont like and will go to whatever measures needed, even violating city enforced laws to remove people. The property is not well maintained. Over the years there have been and continue to be rodent infestations and unsightly critters. Every tenant is expected to maintain their unit, including but not limited to making repairs. The building has had several floods and the work if done is done poorly. Its been this family's cash cow since 1952. People stayed because people could not get other rentals in the area, but once the laws changed in 1996 and allowed the rents to rise; this family began to harrass people frim their homes, harassing them, lying all way till the units were all up to new market rates. Tenants who are there still get the same calls from this family, constantly harassing to get their way... even though they only paid $30,000 for the property and their taxes are low. One family member would brag at how they paid so little and charge so much. The highlight of this building is its location. Its a walkable distance to stores, Main St. , the beach, and very close to bus services. You csn get easily to LAX riding on 1 bus. The neighborhood is amazing with long tetm residents who take care if each other. Many streets have annual street parties. With rentals more plentiful in Santa Monica now, I highly recommend that people take the time to look. Its a daunting task, but there are better bangs for the buck. There may be a management company running the building now as the family member who handled any building had his contractors licrnse revoked because of multiple complaints filed agaunst him for labor violations, construction defects, violating hours to work, failing to give accurate estimates, demanding bith clients and residents pay him additional sums of money, etc. ...

This neighborhood is very nice, but the family that controls this residence just milks the place for money. When there are problems. They just ignore them forcing a person to live with the situation, fix the problem, or move. None of the solutions are going. When these people don't like a person, they jointly will gang up, verbally. emotionally, and financially destroying people. The worse part is they lie, cheat, and steal, but don't try that on them because then they'll come after you. Everything is cheaply maintained and they have no vested interested in maintence. There are a lot of places nearby that for the same money are nicer, and one doesn't have to put up with the harrassment. It's very noisy with the emergency crews running up and down the major boulevards day and night. There are ...
