Monterra Del Rey (350 S. Madison) is not listed, but it is under the same management as Monterra Del Mar and Monterra Del Sol. People in both complexes have had similar views and experiences. This apartment complex may look nice on the outside, but once you've actually lived here for a week you notice lots of problems. 1. Apartment - The apartments are dark inside. Trees and buildings in close proximity block the sunlight. This results in high electricity bills due to using lamps (no overhead lights in the ceiling) all day and night long. Also, the plumbing frequently clogs and the pipes are old, causing the water to be brown. 2. Management - The apartment manager is very passive and slow in fulfilling requests. He is never there during normal business hours and always uses the excuse, "I was out to lunch." Upon moving in it took almost a month just to fulfill a simple request! I have had to pick up packages at the post office frequently, because the delivery could not be left in the management office. 3. Maintenance - The apartment maintenance staff are very slow in fulfilling requests. They live on site, but don't return calls. They just show up at your apartment two, three hours later and still don't fix the problem. Maintenance usually requires multiple visits for one problem. 4. Safety - The garage doors often malfunction, either staying open or closed. I have on more than one occasion been locked out or inside of the garage. The keys often stick when trying to open the doors to the lobby and stairwell doors. I rented from fall '08 through winter '09. ...
