Let me start by saying that I recently moved out of Monterey Pines only because my job required me to re-locate. Leaving my apartment was/is the most difficult part of leaving Loma Linda. It has proven impossible to find another complex that even comes close to the high standards that Monterey Pines set in the quality of their apartments and amenities and the high level of service offered and consistently maintained by the office and maintenance staff. Monterey Pines is a fantastic place to live. What they guarantee, they deliver, on all accounts. My apartment was extremely well kept and recently updated with all new appliances and carpet. It felt like I was moving into my own new space - not something someone else had lived in. If any issue ever arose (such as the kitchen sink became plugged shortly after moving in, and later on, the fluorescent bulbs in the kitchen needed replacing) the maintenance men came to fix the problem within 24 hours. And if the handymen can't fix it, they will leave a note telling you they stopped in and have requested an outside professional to attend to the issue and it will be resolved as soon as possible (usually within a day). There was never any hassle when placing a work order; we were never made to feel we were an inconvenience, and the staff (office and maintenance) were nothing but helpful and professional. The amenities are excellent. There are two large, very nice, laundry rooms that work on a pay card system so you don't have to carry around bags of quarters. And the prices are cheaper than I've seen - or heard of - anywhere else. The fitness center is modest in size, but there is pretty much always a machine available. It has new televisions, overhead fans, and the equipment is kept in working condition. Both the large pool in the front and the smaller pool in the back are kept clean and attractive and the lounge chairs were recently re-strapped so everything is new and clean. Resident wifi access was just added to the front pool area as well, so you can have free internet access as you lounge. In the back of the property there are two tennis courts, a basketball hoop, and a sand volleyball court. All are kept up to the high standard of excellence as the rest of the property. And same as inside your apartment: if there is ever an issue with the on-site amenities, just let the office know and they will put in a work order and have it fixed. There is assigned, covered, resident parking and never was there an issue of safety or vandalism inside the parking complex, or the surrounding area to my knowledge. The neighborhood next to the complex is beautiful, safe, and perfect for walking, jogging, biking, etc. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and dedicated to delivering a product of excellent quality. They are discerning about who rents their apartments to ensure that it is a safe and trustworthy complex. I wholeheartedly know that the staff had my best interests in mind, and they were invested in me as a person. I would recommend Monterey Pines to anyone and everyone who was moving to the area. If I ever move back anywhere close to Loma Linda I will 200% guaranteed move back in. The complex, apartments, amenities, and staff are absolutely unmatched, and unbeatable. I rented from spring 10 through fall 11. ...

First few months I lived here my car was broken into every Month and the Management said that it wasn't their problem. Our AC unit stopped working twice during the summer and had to wait three days both times before it came back on. Almost everything outside the apartment smell of dog and cat urine and feces, there is no enforcement of cleaning up after pets. As soon as I gave notice that I would be leaving the apartment I was charged extra for every little thing so much so that we had to hire a lawyer to get the Management to stop these illegitimate fines. They Close down the Main Office early everyday and take 1hour+ lunch breaks so it is very hard to talk to them if there is a problem. I rented from spring '06 through spring '07. ...
