Do yourself a favor and find another apartment complex close to Cal State San Bernardino. They offer sure deposit for $87.50, which allows you to waive the security deposit. At the time their property manager told me it would cover me for $500 worth of
moving out expenses. It covered me for $0 and the apartments sent me a bill for $225.07. Also, I told management that I was leaving my home to visit family for a few weeks and asked them to keep an eye on my apartment and car. I was asked to move my vehicle close to the management office and they towed my vehicle a week after I left on vacation. Do not stay at this place, they are completely misinformed about sure deposit and incapable of taking care of their residents when they have to leave town. In addition, don't ever use sure deposit its a way apartments get around California Civil Code Section 1950.5, which prohibits apartments from taking non-refundable deposits. Its a way for them to take a non-refundable deposit and still give you a bill at the end of your lease.
I rented from spring '09 through spring 11.
