My daughter lived in 21 Oaks, Columbia, SC during college at UofSC twice. The first time was a few years ago under different management. It was a good experience so 2 years later she rented there again. What a mistake! There wasn't a shower head in her bathroom, no desk chair, and the dishwasher was filthy. New management took over and they consistently found ways to charge tenants extra. You have to opt-out instead of opt-in for various services through 3rd party providers websites. Then once you're in the apartment, they will charge you extra each month for random things. They also add the utility fees into your monthly payment; which used to be done through Simply Bills. Because of the change, they overcharge every month. So a rent of $605 will cost you well over $700! ...

It is not the fanciest apartment, but you get what you pay for. The apartment is quiet most of the time, and the staff is very friendly. However, they did not bother to fix the hot tub for the whole year that I lived there.
