wow i wish i would have read this before renting from this guy. 615 5th ave se in minneapolis, it is a horrid building and the land lord is an unresponsive sociopath. WILL rip you off on your deposit. AVOID domi properties iv, and mike hoag at all costs. i can say id rather be homeless than have to deal with these slum lords again. seriously i cannot overstate how terrible your experience will be. ...

Over priced for what you get....not a quiet area...dryer machine does not dry your clothes. For a while i had power issues...the breaker would flip and shut everything down. Loud neighborhood. Apartment is cheaply put together, they found some bogus stuff to take off of my deposit. Landlord is hard to get a hold of unless he wants something from you. Apartment was very drafty in the winter and extremely hot in the summer. Signs advertise ac units....mine did not have an ac unit...the free wifi is slow and frequently had issues. My advice? stay away ...

Do not ever rent from Domi Properties, Mike Hoag. The guy has some sort of anger problem and mental disorder. Poor landlord, who does not fix anythin, or return phone calls. We have hired an attorney because of damage deposit being withheld.

I have never been so unsatisfied with a service in all of my life. Mike Hoag is a horrible landlord. We had windows that were stuck open, without screens, glass that separated from the frame and were told these would be replaced before we moved it. It wasn't until late November when they replaced only 2 of the 5 windows and we went the rest of the winter without proper windows. Every time I'd try to contact him I'd get voicemail and leave many messages but would never get a response. We also had a front door to our unit that if you pushed on it it would separated from the frame, Mike would come in and make comments about how he felt so bad he hadn't replaced our door yet but we went our entire lease without a front door. Our particular unit also had mice and bug infestation. The building also advertised AC included, but it was broken this whole summer and we slept through many nights when the temperature didn't go below 95 degrees. I called him every day, three times a day about getting the AC fixed and NEVER got a single response. The building itself could be a great place to live if taken care of properly, but with this landlord you have no luck in being satisfied. DO NOT RENT FROM DOMI PROPERTIES EVER! I rented from fall 10 through summer 11. ...

Never ever lease from this owner. Ads claim Airconditioning, but all units are not working. Lease will address what he will fix, but never gets to it. He is a whiny wimpy moody middle aged thin skinned man who appears to be dealing with PMS. Mike will come into your apartment and act as if he is the best landlord ready to fix any issue a tenant may have, and the next day, he refuses to acknowledge any agreement. He is either dealing with multipersonality disorder or PMS. So glad to be out of his apartments. Very unprofessional. Will not take phone calls or return messages. Read every letter of any lease this man writes up. We had cockroaches, mice, no air conditioning, a door which came off the hinges, and windows which would not shut. I rented from fall 10 through summer 11. ...

Landlord was very responsive, building was extremely quiet and super cool. Location is perfect, 1 block from bus and walking distance to campus. I was sad to leave, but I graduated and received and offer in Kansas. I rented from fall 10 through summer 11. ...

I've had many apartments in various locations around Minneapolis. This rental experience was by FAR the worst. Landlords have no respect for tenants, much to the effect of others who have written reviews. They aren't available and when/if they get back to you, they respond to ONE of the tenants (out of 2) via text message. VERY unprofessional. We were told we could move in early, that the place would be ready before the September 1st move-in, but it wasn't ready 'til the SECOND. We were rendered homeless for two days because of this. When we finally got to move in, the sink and toilet were not put in. Tiles were missing from the kitchen. One of the bedroom carpets was gray/black when it was supposed to be white. The fire alarms weren't connected and we didn't get a key for the back door access (so there wasn't a point of using it--very inconvenient). Our two bedroom apartment should be labeled a 1 bedroom because the second room is essentially a small storage room. Extraordinarily overpriced because of this. An apartment fire occurred and the landlord couldn't be reached for two days. The fire happened in October and they still haven't fixed it up and it's almost August! The renovate without telling the tenants and do so at horrible hours (mornings on weekends and late in the evening during the week). The "quiet building" they promised has been a far cry from the actual. The sad truth is that these are not at all exaggerations. The place is poorly lit, and cramped (you can tell the miserly landlords renovated to squeeze people in tiny areas in order to make profit). The laundry machines are circa. 1970 and the washer smells of mold. The garden level guests are frequently smoking weed and having parties on our stoop, leaving beer bottles and cigarette butts in their wake. The landlords clean it up very rarely. The contractors they have renovating the place are foul-mouthed, rude people that don't seem to be from an actual contracting company. VERY SHADY. I never have felt more compelled to warn people about imminent dangers, but I strongly urge EVERYONE who considers renting from this company to STAY AWAY!!! You have been warned. ...

They never return phone calls, they scare you with the law as one of them is an attorney. They do not take care of the place, and are not honest with you regarding the safety of the neighborhood. Word of advice, drive through the neighborhood you are going to rent in at various times of the day, before signing a lease. I rented from fall '07 through fall '08. ...

What to say about this apartment complex. The landlords are never there when u need it. Bottom line, you are screwed. One time, the so called care taker cut the wire of my cable and internet and use it for himself. NO noise and drugs policy at all. Do not trust the landlord by his word, everything must be in paper or they threatened you for sueing. one of the landlord is attorney, and I have some verbal agreement with him for leaving the apartment but he directly told me that he does not care about the verbal agreement and he fucked me up. Bottom line, please do not stay in this building I rented from spring '08 through spring '09. ...

Landlord has no respect for tenant. Tries to charge you too much. Creaky floors, landlord enforces no policy on noise in the building although they promise you that it is a quiet building. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Run by two cheats.
