We are Grand Rapids Alliance of Cooperative Communities. We currently have 48 units over three properties in the Heritage Hill district in the heart of Downtown Grand Rapids.
The James Russell House is part of this housing cooperative, right in the heart of Heritage Hill. The building has both complete apartments and individual rooms. Shared spaces include: living room, dining room, commercial kitchen.

All groceries and household items are a flat fee, and are purchased weekly.
All utilities (internet, heat, water, electric, trash) are also a flat rate.

We have a variety of rooms available, in several price ranges.

Our organization is committed to building our community, and we are seeking individuals that we can synergize and grow with.

Applicants must attend a house meeting, a house dinner and be voted into the house by the membership. Each property is a community with established guidelines and regulations the house abides by, decided upon by each member's direct decisions. All of our members receive an equal say and vote upon all matters within the house. House meetings occur at least twice a month where members gather to discuss house roles and ideas for working together as well as coordinating events and celebrations.
