About Keep your job/school and live rent-free - unique roommate opportunity for 24 year old mildly developmentally disabled young woman.
Keep your job and live rent-free -- unique roommate opportunity for our 24 year old daughter who is mildly developmentally disabled. She lives mostly independently with a little guidance in southwest suburban Woodridge.
College-age females only please.
Roommate's primary responsibilities: safety oversight, independent living skills/social skills help, occasional transportation, etc. In return roommate will be provided own bedroom/bathroom in 2-bedroom condo in Woodridge, including shared kitchen/living room/storage, utilities and wifi.
Duties will only take an hour or so a day, on flexible schedule arranged with daughter. PLENTY of free time for job, school, social life, vacations, etc. No smoking. No pets. Must pass PSW criminal/DCFS background check through ACCESS.
Perfect living situation for a college student or recent graduate who wants to save up some money while getting experience with special needs.
Rent and utilities reimbursed through Medicaid waiver via PSW income. Our daughter has a social life, job, activities, etc. and the roommate responsibilities are minimal (maybe an hour a day tops). The roommate is welcome to hold a fulltime job, have a social life, attend college, etc as long as these minimal responsibilities are met.
