Never, EVER rent from LJF/Larry Foote! I don't even know where to begin about my experience. On the day I paid my deposit and first month's rent, Larry threw me into a battle between him and his employee Susan (Larry accepted my cash deposit - don't worry I got a receipt - and Susan didn't like that, so Larry had me calling her to apologize and she refused to talk to me, so Larry kept telling me he wouldn't help me, it was up to me making things up with Susan ... for like 2 weeks this went on). My apartment was advertised to me as having air conditioning, it didn't and Larry refused to fix it. My bedroom closet light had no pull-string to turn it off, Larry said I should just leave it on all the time and sleep with my closet door shut. My bathtub and shower weren't caulked, Larry said he'd send someone to fix it and never did. There was a trip hazard where the kitchen flooring met with the front room flooring, Larry ignored my complaints. I had to wait a full week after my move in date to get keys to my apartment, and a full month to get a stove. I waited three months to get a mail key, and finally just bought my own mail lock, gave a key to Susan, and got yelled at for breaking protocol. Susan would tell me to send an accounting of all of my payments in with my rent, then call and yell at me for sending in an accounting of all of my payments with my rent. TWICE they sent people into my apartment, with keys to my apartment, WITHOUT ME KNOWING ABOUT IT, because they forgot I lived there and told their cleaning people to come clean it out - I was sitting on my couch and all of a sudden a bunch of strangers unlock my apartment and start walking in. They left the service lock on my front door, that they use for all empty apartments and refused to change it until I posted a sign on my door saying the apartment was occupied and anyone entering would be sued for trespassing. The upstairs air conditioning unit (they got air conditioning, lucky ducks) leaked water into my utility closet - Larry's solution was to tell the people upstairs to stop using their A/C. Cockroaches. It was required to mail in a cashier's check for rent - had to be mailed. Larry would lose the mail. Then call me and harass me about my late rent (you can't "cancel" a cashier's check - he was trying to get me to pay double rent). Larry and Susan hanging out in the building literally SCREAMING at each other (walls are paper thin - I felt like a child hiding from dangerous, fighting parents). Larry one day cut all of the Comcast cable lines - he decided he didn't like how they were installed. So we were out of cable. Comcast came, freaking out that they were going to sue Larry, and refusing to replace the cables until he promised he wouldn't do it again, and he told them that he'd do it if he wanted to and he dared them to sue him. Larry was always drunk. And last, but not least, they refused to return my deposit. I have been working with attorneys to possibly get a class action suit going, but I may just have to settle for small claims. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE PREDATORY PEOPLE. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY OR ACCESS TO YOUR LIFE. I rented from fall 2014 through summer 2016. ...

Absolutely the worst landlord ever. L.J.F. stands for Larry J. Foote -- if you see his name as a landlord . . RUN! He stole a lot of stuff & I heard he "evicted" a tenant once by changing the locks. Criminal. Only word for it.
