I would highly recommend NOT living at the ABQ High Lofts. I lived there for over a year (because it was the only place available in that area) and had many frustrating encounters with management. The management is run by Lara Simon who is unfriendly, fake, and unsympathetic to anyone who has a pulse. Many of my appliances broke down and when I contacted her, she acted as if it was an inconvenience that the cheap appliances broke. My groceries went bad twice and they never offered to reimburse me and I was left without a fridge for a week each time. Simon is not interested in talking to anyone unless it benefits her in some way. They entered my loft without permission twice. They tried to charge me extra for late rent even though I paid on time. When I sent them a copy of my CASHED check, she did not apologize. On THREE occasions my mail was lost and then found and then lost again only to be returned to me by another tenant. I have heard good things about Gold Street Lofts if people are looking for loft type living. When you move out, they will charge you HUNDREDS of dollars for "cleaning" expenses no matter how great of a condition you left it in. I rented from fall '09 through summer 10. ...
