These apartments are pretty pricy in comparison to other apartments in the area. However, you definitely get your "bang for your buck." Amenities are all inclusive in the rent price. There are also many additional features that make the price seem not as pricy at first glance. There is free printing in the clubhouse, a gym, an indoor pool, a deck to lay out on, snacks and drinks are available, etc. Maintenance usually comes within a day of calling the office to report something that is wrong in your apartment. There is no cap on water, electricity, air/heat, internet (which we now have WiFi throughout), etc. Overall, my experience here thus far has been pretty good. I rented from fall 10 through summer 11. ...

When I first moved in I was told it would be a quiet place where students could study and that noise would not be tolerated. I had to call the police on my neighbors at least once a week. The "security" that is employed by the Village is off-duty cops who get paid $22.50/hr to sit in their cars. I have never seen one of them get out of their car and when I asked them to do something about noise I was told I needed to call the police. The property looks like a pigsty...beer cans, cigarette butts, and other trash is everwhere. Not to mention that picking up after your pets is not enforced so you can't walk in the grass without fear of ruining your shoes (plus the whole property stinks from the animal waste). The parking situation is HORRENDOUS! There's plenty of parking if you want to walk a good 5-6 minutes back to your apartment. If you leave after about 7 PM you will be walking a long ways. The property manager is AWFUL! Everyone else who works up there is great but he is a liar. When everyone moved in we were told that there would be tanning beds and an Xbox within the month...a year and a half later and still nothing. The internet is the worst I have ever encountered. It goes out all the time and when you complain to the office nothing is done about it. Yet part of the rent money goes towards having good internet service. The manager is a creep and only treats people decently if they're a pretty girl with a nice chest. I've seen this happen regularly. Two guys I know were evicted for being late on their rent, but girls were allowed to go months and months without (if ever) paying their rent. He also price discriminates on everything. Again if you're a girl you'll get a discount on things and won't have to pay a late rent fee...not so lucky if you're a guy. The property is also notorious for not paying bills on time. I know someone who worked in the clubhouse and was told that there were people always begging to get paid for their services (landscaping, snow removal, the AppalCart bus, etc) and cable was very nearly shut off at least three times due to being over two months late on payment. Overall this place looks nice but is not worth the hassle. It's not what it says it is. The property manager will try and charm you (he is a Marketing guy) so beware of him! I rented from spring '06 through summer '07. ...
