Ok, here's the deal. This apartment is great if you don't mind: a) homeless people mulling around outside your building (and sometimes inside) b) A "washer / dryer" system that holds max. 3 pairs of jeans, takes 2.5 hours to run, and breaks at least once a month. c) A maximum of one working elevator at a time (plus the freight elevator, which operates separately) d) A fitness center straight out of the 1980s that they promised me would be "replaced within a month" in April of LAST YEAR (2008). Out of two treadmills and three ellipticals, only 2 ellipticals are working. I ask them every month, and they just say that they've "ordered the replacement equipment". That's a hell of a delivery time... e) A parking structure that costs $80 / month to use, but is also rented out to ANYONE who wants to pay them on a daily basis during weekend events. They rent out the resident spots, so sometimes you might show up and they won't even let you park in your own spot. This happened to me just last night - and the great news is that there are only 4 visitor parking spots, so that is always full too. f) After over two months of constantly broken washer / dryer machines and non-functional A/C, the management's response was to give us coupons to pizza hut / $50 as a consolation prize. That is less than 10% of one month's rent, not counting parking or utilities, for over 2 month's worth of an apartment I could hardly sleep in. All in all, the location is okay, except that you are constantly accosted by homeless people and everything else about the place is far less than satisfactory. If the rent was a couple hundred dollars less it'd be great. But they're only bumping rent up... don't bother with this mess. I rented from summer '08 through fall '08. ...
