My wife(24) and I(30) have lived here for three years and it was very pleasant for the first two years but for this last year the Adagio is falling apart. The complex is very clean and well maintained. They recently painted and looks much better now. Landscaping seems to be maintained daily and the maintenance people are very friendly and are there within 24 hours and have fixed everything from leaks to the broken garbage disposal. Management has never given us any problems and neither have any of the other residents. We are fortunate enough to have a two bedroom townhouse with a massive fully enclosed courtyard which is perfect for our two dogs to run around in and during the day they can be locked inside but still go outside on our upstairs balcony to pee. Its extremely quiet around our building and all of our neighbors are quiet and friendly. We have one or two parties a year and we can get pretty loud but never once had a noise complaint. Obviously we wernt out of control but as long as you don't make it a habit you should be ok. When we first moved in parking wasnt so bad for us. As long as we were home before eight we could usually get parking but after that it could be tough. But now in the last six months they have greedily taken away most of the open parking, made it reserved parking, and now charge $50 a month to rent one. Now when I get home from work just after five theres only a few left and by six thirty you're screwed. We finally said we have no choice but there were none left to rent. They said they would call us when one opened up but never heard back from them again. If you plan on having guests over with cars, forget it. The apartment complex is huge and only has five visitor spots. And with the parking situation, they are usually taken up by residents. To me its just another precious spot. The apartment complex backs up to Columbine street. If you can find parking here its not too bad. Randomly I will see broken glass on the street but not too often and parking here fills up by seven or so and is shared with the Californian across the street. Other than that there is nowhere else to park. When we were new we had friends over one night and had them park across Main streen on Alton and all three of them had their cars broken into late that night and everything stolen. Its pretty ghetto there and is pretty high crime. Its also next to a pretty sleezy run down motel. The pool area is exactly how you should think it would be in a large apartment complex. Busy and full of kids. Not a problem but it almost seems that every Sunday is bath day in the hot tub. All the kids seem to put soap in it and wear their clothes in it while the parents hang out and talk. It's really weird. Next to the pool is the gym. Its seen better days. Ever since we moved in nothing worked. The bike has never had power so you cant control anything, one treadmill always breaks and is overall just really run down. Last year and the year before when we resigned our lease I asked about when the equipment in the gym would be fixed and both time they said that "we are in the process of ordering new equipment", those were Courtney's exact words and it's the same old broken equipment thats been broken for at least three years. Also I want to say Ha Ha Adagio we only paid for one pet rent the entire time we were here and all the while had two dogs and a cat. We refuse to pay rent for each of the animals when there's an apartment we drive by everyday that has TWO bunkbeds in their LIVINGROOM. Who knows how many beds are in the other rooms and do they have to pay rent for each of the 10 people probably living there. People if you have pets just tell them you only have one. No one there cares or checks on anything including when maintenance comes in. One other thing is recently when they need to get in to your apartment for some reason to paint doors or check something they have been sending out notices on everyones doors in the afternoon that say "sorry for the short notice but we need to come in tomorrow and you really have no choice cause were coming in anyway". I don't understand why we can't get twenty four hours notice. Did they just not know or are they just that unorganized. The laundry room we use has in the last year raised the prices to 1.25 to wash and 1.00 to dry. I would think that if you raise the prices the machines would be well maintained. Lots of times the washer will stop in the middle of a cycle and not continue. A third of the dryers are missing one to two of the paddles inside. I informed management about the missing paddles to which she replied "oh no ones ever mentioned this before". That was months ago and nothing has changed. The Adagio is near everything we need. Theres plenty of grocery stores, petco and South Coast Plaza. It's near where we work in Irvine so it saves on gas and we can avoid the freeways. Its also right by the 55 and 405 which is convenient. It's in a kinda ghetto area but its on the border of Santa Ana and could be waaaayyy worse. Overall this is an apartment in Santa Ana. It's 95% Hispanic families and overcrowded. The apartments are very nice for the area and the grounds maintained. We were paying $1665 for ours and its going up another like $90 if we want to stay. We really don't need the extra bedroom so we are moving to Irvine and for the same price are getting a much nicer one bedroom with a washer and dryer, plenty of parking and less crime. I rented from summer '05 through summer '08. ...
