Fun place to be, the social life is pretty good, and parking is amazing! Just beware of Aspen Ridge Mgt. folk

I rented from fall '04 through summer '06.
I paid monthly rent of $350 during fall/winter for a private room.
I paid monthly rent of $250 during spring/summer for a private room.

The apartments are great, but not for the summer price. 255 is a ridiculous amount for summer, and they MAKE you sign a year contract, so you're required to pay for the summer. The management is one of the worst (if not THE WORST) I have ever dealt with. I have heard numerous things about them and I am surprised nobody has done anything about them. They should be fired. Make sure you document everything that happens, because you never know when things will bite you in the butt. Don't let management companies screw you over just because you know you'll eventually move out. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT or they will forever have a monopoly.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE APARTMENTS UNTIL THEY CHANGE THE MANAGEMENT COMPANY!!! Aspen Ridge Management is the worst management company I've ever dealt with, and they have a strong track record of screwing over all of the La Costa tenants. I (2 months later) still don't have anything from my deposit back after moving out, the never send people to clean if you fail a clean check but they'll sure charge you, they don't clean the carpets unless you complain, and they're liars.

The apartments are nice, the ward is ok, but the management company has made the last couple of months ridiculously stressful for me, and they're the main reason I decided to leave.

The ward has great leadership, but most of the housing in the area consists of run-down houses with traditionally non-social occupants. The management company (Aspen Ridge) SUCKS and will hopefully be fired and replaced.
