Before I was able to even sign my lease on a Sunday afternoon after driving in from Florida, the staff was already making a rude impression by telling the apartment locator that I needed to hurry up so they could go home & watch a football game (the manager, Ray). I walked in receiving icy stares from the manager and felt like a burden for arriving 10 minutes prior to closing. Then a week later I called and spoke to him when he hung up on me *by accident* but never called me back even though he had my full name & apartment number. Then within five months, management was receiving complaints about dogs around the complex and instead of finding the source of the problem, they accused every apartment tenant of being the problem. One Friday evening a very rude & aggressive maintenance man was sent to knock on everyone\'s door but instead of being informative about the problem, he knocked on the doors as if he were the police and did not even identity himself - it was extremely overboard and frightening. As a single, newly relocated woman, it was terrifying and being overly aggressive was not professional. You are not permitted to have your screen doors open at all because your dog cannot venture onto the porch at any periodl. This is not a dog friendly complex at all unfortunately. As an employee of a realtor company, I never recommend my clients to this complex because of my own personal experience. No employee should be rude or aggressive to the tenants and they should always complete due diligence before falsely accusing all tenants. As for hoping for results or an apology after filing a complaint, neither was obtained. I would highly recommend a different complex if you seek a peaceful living.
I rented from fall '11 through fall '11.
I paid monthly rent of $738 during fall/winter.
While a little pricey for the out-of-the-way location, the quality of the apartments and grounds is excellent. The River Lodge staff excels at customer service and the maintenance is second to none. Parking can sometimes be an issue on the weekends. Due to the location and heavy traffic, there can be a delay when commuting.
