These apartments are awful! In the 4 months of the YEAR lease we signed we have had nothing but issues that NEVER get resolved. When you go to sign the lease the office manager and her assistant are nothing but sweet as pie, and they con you in to believing that your stay here will be wonderful. They make you feel like they would go to the moon and back for you, but in reality they won't even move from their chair to greet you or assist you in anything after you sign on the dotted line. Here are just a few off the issues we have had in less than four months of living in this 'highly recommended' complex. 1.) We didn't have power for over a week in our apartment due to storms, I called the office numerous times and left numerous messages asking to please be notified if/when the power gets turned on. Never heard a peep. 2.) During the storms above, a mysterious leak appeared in the middle of the dining room area. Turned out that the water heater has rusted and was leaking every where. It leaked into the kitchen, the dining room, thru the wall into the laundry room. The mainteance man came to fix it and revealed to me that there had been a "steady" leak for some time now. The leak caused something to leak up thru the carpet in the middle of the dining room staining the carpet and leaving me responsible for it. There have also been numerous sink leaks in the kitchen. We also thought that our washer was broken (it is ours not the apartments) because every time we used it water would leak out all over the bottom, turns out the water heater was leaking thru the wall/floor (its on the other side of the wall) luckily we did not buy a new washer and found out what the real problem was. 3.) Because of all these leaks we have contacted the office numerous times about mold/mildew. Since there as no power in the apartment when the water heater broke the water just sat there (while I called the office repeatedly to send someone out!) to this day NO ONE has came out, but mainteance (the short white man) told us he had looked at the area and saw nothing wrong (funny thing is I never told them where the area was so this has still not been resolved!) 4.) The website says that if you get a package in the MAIL it will be left in the office for you to pick up. NOT TRUE! Your package gets left outside your door for the whole world to see and for any random person to just steal. When I asked the office if they got our mail they said "why would we have it?" and denied that mail would ever be there and talked to me like I was insane for even thinking that it would be delivered to them. Almost four months into our lease we are still having problems with our mail in our apartment complex. Packages have gone missing, sometimes the mail boxes aren't closed completely. 5.) The AC broke in the evening, we could not have them come out because it was 83 degrees in the apartment and not 85 which is the "emergency temperature". We had to wait until the following day to file our mainteance request. We looked at our AC until and it said that the AC had not been serviced since 04-17-2001. We called the office, told them the problem and mentioned what the sticker said. The office assistant got really rude and snotty telling us to just "disregard" the sticker because it's "irrelevant" and how they regularly service everything. The mainteance man came out and gave us a new thermostat (digital) and so far so good on that area. 6.) We left on a 3-4 day vactiona and come home to find that there are 1ft-4ft long cracks in the walls/ceiling in all the rooms in our house, the corners are pulling apart from the rest of the walls. More and more cracks have appeared each day. We contacted the office and when we spoke to the office agents they said they would send someone out, no one came out until the following day. **The office manager and her assistant claimed that this was "completely normal and common in buildings this old" 7.) Our back door mysteriously stopped opening/closing. We called the office to let them know the problem, they did not send anyone out until the next day. The wall that the door is connect to is literally becoming DETACHED from the apartment, as in you can push the wall and see the concrete slab/patio instead of CARPET. you can go on our patio and push the OUTSIDE WALL of our apartment and the WHOLE wall shakes and moves. NOT SAFE or NORMAL!!!! we were told that somone would be out NEXT week to look at the problem.... (I have video and pictures of this!!!) **The office manager told us that the door frame hadn't been replaced properly and that is what is causing an entire vaulted ceiling wall to move about an inch in each direction. The mainteance man said that the entire wall needed to come down, be reframed and put back up... The issue has still not been resolved! I have multiple pictures and videos! After all of this, I have not gotten an apology of any kind. Everyone acts like they are going out of their way all the time. The only person who does anything and gets it done right is the spanish speaking mainteance man, he may be hard to understand but if you ask him directly (and not the office agents!!!) he will fix all your issues and apologize and check up on the issue! I have also talked to my neighbors and they are having similar issues. I rented from spring 11 through spring 11. ...
