I have had some nightmarish experiences with apartments in the past but I absolutely LOVE it here. My boyfriend and I have lived here for a little over a year and a half and let me tell you.. I've lived on my own in various apartment homes since I was 17 and this is by far the best experience I've had.. I mean, it's not even comparable. The apartment manager, Toby, is an absolute doll and is always smiling and ready to help in whatever the situation may be. She is so proactive that she heard there had been breakouts in a neighborhood close to ours and even though Pinetree has never had home invasions at least the last 10 years that she'd been here, she hired security to watch over the complex during the night hours and made us aware of everything. She's always keeping us informed of any changes or information about what's going on with regular maintenance, etc. The parking is somewhat cramped because a lot of people have more than one car and the place was built so many years ago when it wasn't common but we've only needed to park on the street twice or three times since we've been here, once being when the lot was re-blacktopped. Our maintenance man is just as helpful and just as nice. If there's ever been a little something that we needed done, he's at the apartment in about as much time as it takes to hang up the phone with Toby and he fixes whatever is needed in a flash. He's always out there making the place look absolutely gorgeous and he does a darn good job on the landscaping. The parking lot is always clean and free of leaves because he is constantly out there with the blower in the fall. The lot and sidewalks are always salted and icefree in the winter and the tree buds and helicopters are always cleared in the spring and summer. He is diligently working to make the place even more beautiful than it already is, all day long. He even helped us move our gigantic mattress in because we were having trouble with it. Our apartment was in prime condition when we moved in and I noticed a small stain that the carpet cleaner missed and I called Toby just to let her know so she didn't think it was us when we moved out--I had no intention of getting it fixed but she sent someone from the carpet cleaner company right over to treat it for us. You can tell they take a lot of pride in the complex. It makes me strive to take such good care of my home and I feel happy to show it off when people come to visit. The place has a ton of charm with a spiral staircase that wows every one that comes in. We decided to go month to month in the event that we need to transfer for work and it only cost 10 dollars extra a month. I will be sad the day that we have to leave. We would like to get a pet and the only downfall is that they aren't allowed here but if they did, we would stay here forever. Another note is you can tell they do not cut corners. The quality of the work done is amazing. Our main hall light fixture is so cool and modern and I saw the same one hanging in a friend's brand new, expensive house. Even the neat mirror in the half bath was hand picked out by Toby because she thought it was pretty and it sure is. Both of the bedrooms have large walk in closets which is great for us because we have lots of stuff to store. It's quality you would expect from new construction but charm and character you NEVER find in an apartment. This is seriously the best place to live. I often tell my boyfriend that this is the first place I feel at home since I was a young girl. You get SO much bang for your buck. For $730 a month (rent may have increased since we moved in) we get: a beautifully landscaped complex complete with adorable statues and sophisticated, professional seasonal decor, a well-established, upscale neighborhood next to a golf course and nature preserve/Hills & Dales Metropark, a large/gorgeous fireplace, tons of space, walk-in closets, 2 balconies (one in the family room and one off the master or in some apartments it's in between the two bedrooms), 2 full and one half bath, a mail slot so mail comes right to your door (which is so awesome and quite a pleasant difference from my other apartments, let me tell you!), a well-lit vanity in the master (that I could now not do without), two closets in the master, nice neutral colors and design elements, all electric so no gas bill, water paid, a cool spiral staircase, and the best staff a tenant could ask for. I'm sure I'm missing even more positives. Call Toby and see for yourself! You will not be disappointed. I rented from summer '07 through winter '08. ...
